The Production Engineer is responsible to ensure the quality and efficiency of the production process, and for supporting the Production Manager in managing the operational team.
Role Requirements:
BSc Chemical Engineering or equivalent
Post Graduate qualification will be advantageous
SAP system experience will be advantageous
South African Driver’s License
5 – 10 years’ experience in Process Engineering in a specialist, supervisor or management role within the Pulp and Paper Industry.
At least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory | people management position.
Key Performance Areas:
Materials and stock management
Shut planning and coordination
Process safety risk management and quality control
RCFA and deviation analysis and management
Assist Production Manager with people development
Contractor management
Ensure continuous improvement and process optimisation
Develop SOPs, BOPs, and WOP (responsibility)
Manage budget and cost deviations (own area)
Safety, health and environmental risk management
Perform standby duties as required.
Coordinate gatekeeping meetings (G1, 2 and 3)
