Objective:

The Production Clerk is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the production department. This role plays an integral role in the overall production process by coordinating schedules, documentation, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Maintain accurate records of production-related data, such as raw materials, inventory, production quantities, and quality control information.
  • Generate production reports, including production summaries, work orders, and post-production analysis.
  • Process production orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with the procurement department to ensure adequate inventory levels and timely availability of raw materials.
  • Assist in monitoring and controlling production costs by effectively managing supplies, waste, and other resources.
  • Maintain a safe and clean production environment by following company policies and safety guidelines.
  • Provide administrative support to the production team, including filing, organizing documents, and answering phone calls.
  • Assist in training new production staff on standard operating procedures and safety protocols.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Tertiary education in related field is an advantage as well as previous ERP experience (BC)
  • Proven experience as a Production Clerk or in a similar administrative role within a production environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and production-related software.
  • Good basic math skills and ability to handle numerical data.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of production processes, manufacturing principles, and quality control standards is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends, as necessary.
