Probably the most egregious example of Jamie's dive kick being terrible in Street Fighter 6

Dive kicks have traditionally been very strong in the Street Fighter series, and in fighting games in general. It seems that Capcom particularly wanted to keep Jamie’s dive kick in check in Street Fighter 6 based on how they designed it.

We’ve seen instances of it many times before, but Jamie’s dive kick hurtbox reaches far below his actual body, overshadowing its hitbox. Needless to say, anti-airing this particular attack can often happen in accidental situations.

Electr0Jesus recently posted an interesting clip that highlights just how problematic Jamie’s dive kick can be. Indeed, this is probably the most egregious example of the move just completely failing due to its exaggerated hurtbox.

After performing a forward throw cancelled into The Devil Inside (reaching Drink Level 3), Jamie opted to forward jump against Luke near the end of the clip. At the peak of his jump, it’s clear that Jamie attempted to use a dive kick in this scenario.

However, the Luke player went for a big risk by using his Critical Art at this very moment. Though it appeared as though Luke was nowhere near Jamie, the Critical Art somehow connected.

Check it all out in the clip below:
