Job Purpose
To devise, originate and implement sustainable finance solutions and funding transactions in order to maximise sustainable growth for both Nedbank and our clients. Clients include Nedbank Corporate and Investment Banking client universe to be serviced with a sustainable finance product set covering bilateral and/or syndicated debt funding across multiple sectors
Job Responsibilities
Build and maintain stakeholder relationships by formal and informal engagements (meetings; phone calls)
Build and maintain working relationships by attending team and relevant forum meetings and through collaboration;
Originate new transactions for the bank by regular interaction through collaboration with key stakeholders; via referrals and networking.
Devise and position relevant and commercial sustainable finance ideas/ solutions with clients that can support the origination activities of the wider franchise and support our clients on their sustainability journeys
Collaborate with the respective teams internally to develop and embed sustainable finance offering into client proposition where this make sense and in accordance with agreed strategy
Oversee and manage transactions in a cost effective manner by conducting cost benefit analysis of various execution strategies
Ensure relevant continuous pitching to target clients' by identifying the target clients needs; develop the appropriate pitch and present to the relevant stakeholders.
Gain an in depth understanding of clients sustainability journeys and provide advice, market insights and appropriate solutions
Build sound client and other relevant external relationships by clear communication; regular meetings and setting clear objectives and timelines.
Develop and advise on ESG structures for positioning in market under syndicated transactions, working in collaboration with specialised distribution team
Carry out and ensure the relevant sustainable finance solutions / services are implemented
Formulate responses to Requests for Proposals issued by clients
Ensure timeous submission of client proposals and internal submissions by effectively planning (setting deliverables; expectations and timelines); early engagement and following up stakeholders on deliverables; delegating and assisting in deal implementation across various aspects of the transaction
Ensure compliance by adhering to rules from the regulator; policies and procedures and executing on the mandate

Adapt to changes in all relevant legislation and industry trends by attending relevant training sessions or informal meetings with relevant divisions.
Resolve work obstacles and drive solutions by lobbying and one on one engagements with relevant stakeholders.
Assist deal teams to close transactions by sharing your professional skills; engaging with clients, running various pricing scenarios; structuring the transaction; negotiating legal documents; provide input write up into credit and deal origination committee applications and executing on compliance
Apply the assessment and solutioning guidelines and frameworks that have been established
Prepare and present to Climate and Sustainability Committee where appropriate / relevant
Proactively manage any potential reputational risks through ensuring diligence is applied and through well thought through / considered decisions
Maintain and build existing and on-board market share by applying your professional skills
Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities by ensuring all learning activities are completed; experience practiced, and certifications obtained and/or maintained within specified time frames.
Enable skilling and required corrective action to take place by sharing knowledge and industry trends with team and stakeholders during formal and informal interaction
Seek opportunities to improve business processes and systems by identifying and recommending effective ways to operate and contribute to developing new and/or enhanced processes and add value to Nedbank.
Build professional relationships by networking. Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc.).
Support the achievement of the business strategy; objectives and values by reviewing Nedbank and Business Unit Plans and ensuring delivered systems; process; services and solutions are aligned.
Identify training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from management.
Ensure all personal development plan activities are completed within specified time frame.
Essential Qualifications – NQF Level
Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Preferred Qualification
Chartered Accountant (SA), Chartered Financial Analyst, Masters Degree in Commerce, Sciences, Legal or other relevant field
