Cross River Born public affairs analyst, Prince Thomas Abi Jr., has condemned the recent cult violence in Calabar which led to the loss of over 15 lives.
Prince Abi said the recent activities of cult groups is heart breaking and wonders why people with the right mental reasoning would venture into taking the life of another individual. Stating that every member of the society has the right to life and people must begin to value human life.
He said it was shocking that students who are suppose to be studying are now engaging in cult activities. He described the incidents as unfortunate and urged members of the public to report suspicious activities to the relevant security agencies in the State.
Prince Abi further lamented that such violent activities were capable of putting the state in bad light. Stating that Cross River remains a tourism state and all hands must be on deck to fight the insecurity situation in Calabar and other parts of the State.
He charged parents, guardians, the state government and religious leaders to educate children on the dangers of enlisting in dangerous groups or venturing into violent activities which could lead to the destruction of their future.
Prince Abi further called on the government of Cross River State to ensure that peace returns to the state while calling on security agencies to work towards ensuring the safety of lives and property of the People of the state.
