Office Of The Special Assistant To The Governor of Cross River State, CRS On Student Affairs And Youth Mobilization Collaborates With Ministry of Education, CRS and Call For Educational Volunteers
In futherance of deepening the #BackToBookProject of the state government, an initiative of the Office of the S.A to the Governor of CRS on Student Affairs and Youth Mobilization, a collaboration has been built with the state Ministry of Education for technical and logistic support.
This information was made known to the S.A Student Affairs and Youth Mobilization, Prince Abuo on his visit to the Ministry by the Director of School Services, Mrs Charity Ottoho and The Desk Officer-Tourism/Entrepreneur, Mrs Okama Amos on directive by the State Commissioner of Education, Mr Goddy Etta.
The support to be given by the Ministry includes but is not limited to access to schools and students for sensitization on the initiative; approval for the use of schools for brush up centers (At this brush up centers students will be offered extramural classes-different subjects will be taught by volunteers, guidance and counselling services and brush ups on writing and communication skills for graduates and under graduates; schools will be selected for use at the south, central and northern part of Cross River State but a launch will begin with two schools in the southern senatorial district); providing technical and logistic support in terms of man power and access to educational and sporting facilities etc.
The above initiative is to ensure that contributive efforts are collated and harnessed to build an educationally developed state and young people are exposed to the importance of education and abundant educational facilities in the state for maximum utilization.
Therefore, interested volunteers for our educational program in our brush up centers which will commence in August,2016 in Calabar South and Calabar Municipality respectively should mail their curriculum vitae to Michaelabuo@gmail.com or contact, Mr Hurbet on 07063470240 for details/participation.
These volunteers should be graduates and or undergraduates in their third year and above and must possess good communication and teaching skills. Moreso students of secondary schools, graduates and undergraduates are encouraged to utilize these opportunities and parents are also advised to encourage their kids to be part of this program.
