Manchester United head to Bournemouth on Saturday evening to face Bournemouth in what will be a very crucial game for United if there is any chance of them miraculously making the Champions League.
Erik ten Hag will not be spoilt for choice when it comes to team selection as the options at his disposal are as fickle as can be described, especially in defence.
The injury issues that have troubled ten Hag’s teams are still around and still haunting alright.
Erik ten Hag will have up to 6 defenders injured heading to Bournemouth, which means the only senior centre back in Harry Maguire will have to once again partner young Willy Kambwala in central defence.
The 19-year-old French centre back will only be making his 3rd start for United and his second in the past week.
The rest of the defence will remain intact with Onana in goal, Dalot at right back and Aaron Wan-Bissaka deputizing for injured Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia at left back.
Scott Mctominay hyperextended his knee in last week’s defeat to Chelsea, and he will be unavailable for 2–3 weeks, which means Casemiro will most likely start in the defensive midfield position.
Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes will most likely partner Casemiro and make up the 3 in midfield.
On the frontline, it will be touch and go with Marcus Rashford, who got injured in the Liverpool 2-2 draw and did not train all week until Thursday.
Speaking to the media ahead of the game, ten Hag mentioned that he can only hope Rashford will be ready.
Ten Hag said on Friday: “Rashy trained yesterday, so it depends on how he recovered from it today.
Both Garnacho and Hojlund are fit and if Rashford will not be fit to start, Antony will most likely take his place in the 11.
Predicted Man Utd XI(4-2-3-1): Onana, Dalot, Maguire, Kambwala, Wan-Bissaka, Casemiro, Mainoo, Antony, Fernandes, Garnacho, Hojlund
