His Beatitude Metropolitan Herman, former primate of the Orthodox Church in America, is in the last days of his earthly life.
The current primate, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon, is calling upon all to pray:
His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon is asking for the prayers of the clergy, monastics, and faithful of the Orthodox Church in America on behalf of His Beatitude Metropolitan Herman who is drawing to the close of his earthly life. Metropolitan Herman is currently in his home on the grounds of Saint Tikhon’s Monastery.
Met. Herman, 90, was consecrated to the episcopacy in 1973, and served as primate of the OCA from July 2002 to September 2008.
His predecessor, His Beatitude Metropolitan Theodosius, reposed in the Lord on Metropolitan Theodosius, retired primate of OCA, reposes in the LordHis Beatitude Metropolitan Theodosius (Lazor), the retired Archbishop of Washington, Metropolitan of All America and Canada of the Orthodox Church in America, reposed in the Lord this morning after an extended illness.
