Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar |
The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, expressed his confidence in the inauguration of President-elect Bola Tinubu on May 29, emphasizing that nothing can impede the process.
Abubakar made these remarks during a roundtable engagement with traditional and religious leaders organized by the World Bank in Abuja on Wednesday.
He urged Nigerians to pray for the success of Tinubu’s administration and emphasized the need for unity and concerted efforts to promote equity and justice in the country.
He said: “There must be change because in the next few days or weeks there will be a new government; what can we contribute to that government to stabilize?
“Whether anybody likes it, it must take place, a new government is coming on May 29, so what can we do besides prayers, because we believe in the Almighty, we believe in God that gives and takes.
“After that so what? What do we do to help the government stabilize and move the country forward?”
He charged Nigerians to be united and work towards ensuring equity and justice.
