The Cross River State Ministry of Culture and Tourism Development and the Healthy Billionaires Fitness Club have agreed to a synergy that will aid the resumption of tourism activities in the State, especially at the Obudu Mountain Resort, come post COVID-19 era.
The synergy was part of resolutions reached when members of the club paid a courtesy call on the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Development at his office in Calabar.
The Commissioner, Ministry of Culture and Tourism Development, Mr. Eric Anderson, while welcoming the development, said the collaboration will serve two important purposes, first to keep fit and second, to help the State in providing the Resort with every form of promotion it needs as the tourism sector globally, has been terribly hit by the COVID 19 pandemic.
Receiving the club’s proposal to visit the Resort, Mr. Anderson said that the Special Adviser, Obudu Mountain Resort, Hon. Bobby Ekpenyong, will be fully involved in the planning process as the host, thereby assuring them of an unforgettable well-packaged experience at the Resort while in return selling it to the world.
Speaking further, the Commissioner, commended the Chairman, Healthy Billionaires Fitness Club, Mr. William Archibong, for choosing the Obudu Mountain Resort, for the club’s retreat destination, as it has birthed a sequence of ideas for increasing patronage to the world class tourism facility.
Thanking the Commissioner and Management of the Ministry, the Chairman, Healthy Billionaires Fitness Club, Mr. William Archibong, said the club which is made up of young professionals with shared passion for health and fitness, have strong media following who will garner firsthand experience, create media awareness for the Resort’s marketability as an exciting and safe destination for group trips post COVID-19 era.
The Secretary, Healthy Billionaires Fitness Club, Mr. Slyva Bogbo, said that future projections hope to see the club exploring other sites in the State as the need to enhance Cross River State’s image as the preferred tourism destination, created the need to infuse wellness, fitness and tourism.
The Director of Tourism, Ministry of Culture and Tourism Development, Mr Daniel Akekeh, and members of the Healthy Billionaires Fitness Club, the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, CRSHA, Mr. Hope Obeten and Mr. Chris Uzor, were also at the meeting.
The fitness retreat is scheduled for the month of June, 2020. #
