Cristiano Ronaldo missed a penalty and saw a goal chalked off for offside as Portugal were held to a 0-0 draw against Austria on Saturday.
The Seleccao were the dominant side throughout the 90 minutes but failed to capitalise on the pressure.
Ronaldo had the chance to seal the three points late on when his side were a penalty but the Real Madrid star hit the post.
Now Portugal’s most capped player, he found the net in the 86th minute, but he was ruled offside as the game finished goalless.
It leaves Group F finely poised, with Hungary leading on four points, followed by Portugal and Iceland on two apiece, with Austria one further behind. It’s all set up for the final matchday
