Police Storm Suspected Kidnapper’s Den In Abuja Community, Arrest Three, Kill One

Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have arrested three suspected kidnappers after a raid on their hideout, located in Chikara, a community bordering the capital city and Kogi State.

The operation, led by the Divisional Police Officer of Utako, CSP Victor Godfrey, was executed between June 8 and 13.

The FCT command in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Josephine Adeh on Saturday, disclosed one of the suspects, Abdusallam Abdulkadir, got hit during cross-fire and died.

The arrested suspects: Mahammadu Isa, 27, Likita Idris, 27, and Isiyaku Muhammedu, 22, however, confessed to being involved in a series of kidnapping incidents and other heinous crimes in FCT and its environs.

The statement read partly: “An English pump-action gun, a locally fabricated pistol, two live cartridges, cutlasses, knives, and items reasonably believed to be charms were recovered from the suspects.

“While the investigation is still ongoing, the commissioner of police, FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, psc, mni, reiterates the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the residents of the nation’s capital.

“He also urges the residents to be vigilant and take advantage of the police emergency lines in reporting suspicious activities through 08032003913, 08028940883, 08061581938, and 07057337653 PCB: 09022222352, CRU: 08107314192.”
