Police operatives in Lagos on Wednesday deactivated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the Ikeja area of the state.
The spokesman for the state police command, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the news to journalists in Ikeja.
He said the bomb was found on the roadside along the Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way.
The incident has heightened fear of a possible breakdown of law and order in the state just 24 hours before the national protest organised by a group of Nigerians to voice their anger over perceived bad governance in the country.
