Police arrests four suspected armed robbers, kidnappers in Anambra

Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command attached to the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu in the early hours of 24th September, 2025 acting on credible intelligence, stormed Aguleri and arrested four suspected members of a criminal gang allegedly involved in armed robbery and kidnapping in the area.

The arrest was contained in a statement signed and made available to Journalists in Awka on Tuesday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga.

Ikenga said the suspects all males between the ages of 22 and 40 years include: Uchenna Aniegboka, Sunday Nwakalor, Chukwuebuka Aniegbunam and Onyebuchi Udemba. During the Operations, One pump action gun and one black Toyota Camry car with registration. No. SMK 835 FC were recovered.

“To this end, while the suspects are still undergoing interrogation, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, reaffirms the Command’s commitment to ensuring that criminal elements have no hiding place in the State. He further urged members of the public to continue to provide timely information to the Police to aid in the fight against crime.

The case shall be charged to court on the conclusion of the investigations.
