The Anambra State Police Operatives attached to Rapid Response Squad Akwuzu acting on credible information on 22nd August, 2025 arrest one Akpan Godwin ‘m’, aged 65 years, in possession of 1,100 rounds of live ammunition in Nkpor, Onitsha, the commercial city of the State.
The state police public relations officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga disclosed this in a statement in Awka on Saturday.
According to Ikenga, during interrogation, the suspect confessed to being involved in the illegal sale of ammunition and mentioned other individuals connected to the illicit trade.

“Meanwhile the Operatives have stepped up the investigation/manhunt to uncover and apprehend all accomplices.
“Further developments will be communicated, please,” the PPRO noted.
