Cross River State Police Command in Calabar has on Tuesday, raided an abandoned property located at First Avenue, State Housing Estate and arrested 11 suspects who are believed to have been behind the ongoing robberry that have endlessly rocked high brow in State Housing Estate.
According to a report by CaliNews.Com blog, the property, overgrown with weeds, which use to house former Culture and Tourism Minister, Edem Duke’s fast food and eatery, Duke’s, the Police say, became a hideout for suspected thieves who unleashed mayhem on unsuspecting members of the public from there.
“Funny enough, while the place looked inhabitable, these boys made the place their home and operated from there until we were tipped off and had to carry out this raid that yielded 11 of them”.
The suspected robbers are now in the police custody as the police is undergoing further investigations.
