The Pleasant Valley boys soccer team scored two second-half goals to seal a 3-0 Eastern Athletic League victory against Foothill on Friday night in Chico.
In the PV’s first home league game, the Vikings took a 1-0 lead in the first half after Garrett Powell was fouled in the goalkeeper’s box and converted on a penalty kick.
Keegan McGregor scored several minutes into the second half on an assist by Powell, who scored his second goal of the game on an assist by Kwan Jimmerson to give the Vikings a 3-0 lead.
PV (7-4-1, 2-0 EAL) plays next at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Enterprise.
Prep boys basketball
Gridley 68, Orland 50: Gridley had a strong second quarter and defeated Orland on Friday night in Orland.
Gridley led 13-12 after the first quarter, but outscored the Trojans 21-6 in the second quarter to take a 34-18 advantage.
Aaron Kullar led the Bulldogs with 21 points, Luis Murillo had 15, Bikram Kullar had 14 and Travus Boyd had 13.
Zach Story led Orland with 26 points, and Jayden Thompson, Khalil Coley and Dominick Bose had six points each. Bose led the Trojans with nine rebounds, Coley had six rebounds, Thompson had five assists and Story had three steals.
Gridley (14-5, 2-0 Butte View League) plays next at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Oroville.
Orland (12-7, 0-1 BVL) plays next at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at home against Las Plumas.
Biggs 69, Hamilton 49: Sealed with a strong second half, Biggs defeated Hamilton on Friday night in Biggs.
After the two teams were tied after the first quarter, the Wolverines took a 31-27 lead at halftime. In the second half, the Wolverines outscore the Braves 38-22.
Emilio Vera led Biggs with 19 points, Chris Kroupa had 10, David Ibarra had nine, and Chase McLean and Skyler Long had eight points each. McLean and Vera had 12 rebounds each, and Long and Ibarra had eight rebounds each. Vera led the Wolverines with six assists and four steals, and Long led with three blocked shots.
Case Porter led Hamilton with 18 points, Kayden Strong had 16 and Caden Stickney had eight. Porter led the Braves in rebounds with six, Bryant Odom had five rebounds and Stickney had a team-high three assists. On defense, Strong had six steals, Porter had four steals, Stickney had three steals and Jordan Hernandez-Palafox had two blocks.
Biggs (10-5, 2-0 Mid-Valley League) plays next at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Los Molinos.
Hamilton (3-9, 0-2 MVL) plays next at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Williams.
Los Molinos 58, CORE Butte 38: Rallying in the second quarter, Los Molinos defeated CORE Butte on Friday in Chico.
The Bulldogs led 15-12 after the first quarter, but outscored the Lynx 11-2 in the second quarter and 19-11 in the third quarter to take a 47-27 lead.
Karson Fox led Los Molinos with 19 points, Luke Cantonwine scored 16 and Kaden Pinnell scored 13. Clayton Raimer led with seven rebounds, Cantonwine and Josh Alcazar had three assists each, Pinnell had five steals and Alcazar had four steals.

Maddux Wilson led the Vikings with 15 points, Caitlyn Vickery scored 14, AJ Gambol scored 14, Jada Nelms had nine and Shannon Fong had eight.
PV (13-6, 3-0 EAL) plays next at 5:30 p.m. Monday at home against Cornerstone Christian.
Durham 70, Paradise 39: Durham started fast and defeated Paradise on Friday in Durham for the Trojans’ fourth straight victory.
The Trojans led 21-10 after the first quarter and 38-23 at halftime.

Orland 51, Gridley 46: Orland defeated Gridley in a tight-fought BVL matchup Friday in Gridley.
The Trojans led 23-19 at halftime but had their lead trimmed to 32-31 after three quarters. The Trojans outscored the Bulldogs 19-15 in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
