Having controversially drawn when they met in December 2018, it was Fury who triumphed in spectacular fashion in the sequel to claim the WBC and Ring Magazine heavyweight championship belts.
In doing so, he also relieved Wilder of his undefeated record and reduced the American to a shell of the wrecking machine fans had become accustomed to during his reign of terror in the division.
As well as blaming former trainer Mark Breland, Wilder suggested there were items in the gloves of the ‘Gypsy King’ and that referee Jack Reiss has counted too slowly in the first fight after knocking Fury down in the 12th round.
Perhaps the most intriguing excuse was that his ring walk costume for the second fight in Las Vegas was too heavy and sapped him of his energy.

Clearly not one to learn from his mistakes, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ has returned to designers Como and Donato to make his ring walk costume for the trilogy fight and the designs have been released on social media.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, Cosmo and Donato confirmed Wilder has already tried on the costume in order to make sure the weight is right.
“It’s going to be significantly lighter,” Cosmo said, ‘So, we don’t have any drama at all.
“It’s red and black from the Nigerian tribe. The red means funeral — it’s going to be Tyson Fury’s funeral the next fight.”
