Finally, the Ogoja-Calabar road is coming to the plight of the eye in which road users have been plastered with smiles as they’ll be driving the roads with ease after several years of abandonment.

Late last year and earlier this month we posted photos of how bad the Federal Highway linking Calabar and Ogoja, Northern Cross River is. But now work has commence according to a road user who was happy to communicate with our reporter. The place in question is the Mbok axis of Ogoja, the point at which rehabilitation of the Ikom road stopped.

According to a documents in circulation, the contract will cost 7 billion, 37 million, 990 thousand, 8 hundred and 21 Naira and 31 Kobo only (N7,037,990,821.31) and funding was to come from the “2014 Appropriation /SURE-P”.
