Just yesterday, 00|Phenom released a clip on Twitter where he asked BST|Daigo Umehara about his top 5 characters in Street Fighter 6. After Daigo made it clear that Ken was absent from this top 5 list, Phenom had him clarify his thoughts that Ken was top 6 or 7.
From watching the clip, Phenom seemed to have a specific motive in mind with releasing this conversation on the internet considering that top Ken users like himself have been accused of downplaying by other members of the Street Fighter community. Regardless, it would seem that Phenom has taken note of the community’s reaction to Daigo Umehara’s opinions from yesterday and has since decided to alter his strategy.
In a new clip released by Phenom, a conversation is recorded between him and GyoGun|Moke. Notably, GyoGun|Moke is a top Chun-Li user in Street Fighter 6.
Indeed, assuming that a player like Moke would list Ken outside of the top 3 or top 5, it would be difficult to argue that he has any sort of bias for Ken considering that he isn’t a Ken user. This seems to be the tactic Phenom is employing in hopes of convincing the Street Fighter 6 community about Ken’s placement.
“I’m here with Moke,” begins Phenom in the Twitter clip. “I just want to ask him really quick, ‘Who do you think are the top 5 characters in Street Fighter 6?'”
“First, JP,” responded Moke. “Two, Guile. Three, Chun-Li.”
This is already a fairly unique tier list as most people have some combination of JP, Luke, and Ken in the top 3 for Street Fighter 6.
“And… four, Luke,” continued Moke. “Five, Keeeeeeeee — Cammy!”
Moke seemed to be playfully messing with Phenom as it sounded like he was intentionally sounding off the start of Ken’s name before finally revealing Cammy as his fifth best character in Street Fighter 6.
“So, Ken… you think maybe seventh, sixth, or maybe five?” further inquired Phenom.
“Six, Ken,” responded Moke. He would then add that Dee Jay was seventh in Moke’s eyes.
Since some of you are accusing Lord Daigo of downplaying.
