Peter Okoye, one-half of the reunited music group, P Square has written a letter to his twin brother, Paul aka Rudeboy amid their brewing rift.
Paul had in an interview with City FM presenter said there may be more problems brewing between him and his twin brother when he recalled an incident which happened earlier this year between the pair.
He said: “Something happened this year. I was invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over a petition written against me and my elder brother.
“When I got there, I asked them what happened. They had already printed out the statement of my (bank) account, and they started an investigation. However, one month ago, they called us and our elder brother and declared us innocent.
“The only difference was our lifestyle. He took us back to a bank statement of 2007 over a $200,000 credit (I got), though we traced part of the funds to a vehicle he bought. After the truth came out that I was innocent, he still did not apologise.
“I am not speaking up, because I want to bring anybody down. He accused me of selling our (music) catalogue; the same catalogue I wrote 99 percent of. For now, I just want to continue my thing.”
P Square reveals how their reunion helped them manage money better
Peter, who reacted to his brother’s remark in an open letter posted on his Instagram page on Monday, said he was not in competition with his brother or anybody else.
The singer said he saw the interviews granted by Paul where he discredited his efforts in the group that they created and built together.
‘‘In your recent interviews, you claimed you wrote and sang 99% of all P Square songs and discredited me by saying that our song with TI ‘Ejeajo,’ which I wrote, was a failure. You went as far as using the YouTube views to discredit me again.
‘‘You never acknowledged the other songs like: ‘Get Squared’, ‘Busy Body’, ‘Personally’, ‘Roll It’, ‘Tempation’, ‘Alingo’, ‘More Than A Friend’, ‘Shekini’, ‘Say Your Love’, ‘Gimme Dat’, ‘Senorita’, ‘Igbedu’ and a few others. Were these songs considered failures?,’’ he wrote.
The singers’ latest split came more than two years after their celebrated reunion.
