A Legislative candidate for the Calabar Municipality state constituency under the platform of Labour Party, Hon. Edim Okon widely known as “Most Wanted” has described the presidential candidate of his party, Mr. Peter Obi as the Messiah Nigerians have been yearning for over the years.
Speaking in a chat with newsmen, the grassroot politician said, although Obi may be said to have been part of the corrupt system that have brought Nigeria to it’s present state through his affiliation with the People’s Democratic Party and other ruling parties in the past, but Obi was strategically located by God in those parties just like Moses was went to Egypt by God to understudy the ways of the Egyptians as a preparation of his leadership role in the freedom of the Israelites.
In like manner, Okon believes Obi’s sojourn to other major parties was to prepare him for the job ahead. The emancipation of Nigeria’s economy from consumption to production.
“I have also seen Peter Obi as a divine opportunity, his emergence as the Party’s candidate is divine for Nigerians. He is the moses of our time.” He said.
“Many people have said that Obi will be like the rest because he has been in the major parties line PDP and others, so he may likely act like them.”
“I keep tell them despite he has been in PDP and other parties believed to have been part of the destruction of the country. You know Moses was born in Egypt and God kept him there to learn and master the art of stealing and destruction by pharaoh. God kept him there to know how to take the children is Israel out of Egypt. It takes someone who have been there to learn how to do it.”
“So Peter Obi knows how PDP and APC had destroyed this nation, now he is out to save the nation. It will only take a man who have been there to clean Nigerian.”
He averred that Peter Obi will certainly win as his followership base is organic and the new financial policies of the Central Bank of Nigeria will go a long way in eradicating vote buying which he said will give his Principal an edge at the polls.
On his manifesto, Okon said he is fully prepared to hit the ground running as his legislative goals are people oriented, stating that Calabar is business hub, yet the cost of living is high. Is number one priority will be to set up legislative policies that will control and regulate prices of goods and services withing the metropolis.
Edim Okon who is also a creative artist revealed that why he never won in his previous outings of 2015 and 2019 was because of the poor electoral system. But today with the strengthening of the electoral acts, the dynamics of elections have changed and this will give him an edge in the field and ballot.
The legislative hopeful, informed that he is the most wanted by the people but the ruling party was always hijacking the ballot through vote buying and other forms of electoral malpractice. He said with the new electoral act and financial policy by the Central Bank, he believes the people’s vote will now count.
“I kept striving to be successful at the poll, but the issue of vote buying was one of my stumbling block, but I so much believe that with the new electoral act and new financial policies from CBN, voters will now have a say as to who leads them as their votes will count.” He concluded.
