Peacemaker and Janet Cage gameplay trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 released

It’s been about two and a half months since Quan Chi dropped as the most recent DLC character for Mortal Kombat 1, and it’s finally time to see the big man who’s been waiting next in line.

NetherRealm Studios just released the official gameplay trailer for DC’s Peacemaker crossing over into MK1 ahead of his launch next week. In addition to this, the Janet Cage Kameo Fighter was also shown for the first time in this gameplay showcase.

As was confirmed last year, former WWE star John Cena is reprising his role that he first took in 2021’s The Suicide Squad before receiving his own standalone series for the violently peaceful vigilante.

Considering Peacemaker first debuted in the comics all the way back in 1966, however, hopefully NRS will fill his fighting game character incarnation with references from across his long history.

In Mortal Kombat 1, Peacemaker fights using a variety of powerful strikes, gadgets, guns, and even an eagle. His helmet creates a force field around his body that has various effects, including reflecting projectiles, sending out a big sonic boom, and it even helps him pull off flying tackles and teleports.

The Janet Cage Kameo Fighter appears to have several moves that her male counterpart Johnny Cage has, and it looks as though several of her Kameo special moves are multi-hitting sequences that help with combo extension. As one might expect (and hope), Janet also comes equipped with Johnny’s powerful nut punch maneuver as well.

This gameplay trailer goes ahead and reveals Peacemaker and Janet’s Fatal Blow, one of Peacemaker’s Fatalities, and even shows Janet’s Fatality too.

For players who own the Kombat Pack for MK1, Peacemaker will be releasing in early access next Wednesday, February 28, while those looking to pick him up separately are going to be waiting until March 6.

The Janet Cage Kameo Fighter will join the fight sometime in March.

Peacemaker was preceded by Invincible’s Omni-Man and Quan Chi on the DLC roster with The Boys’ Homelander and Takeda set to release this Spring and Summer respectively.

You can check out the full gameplay trailer for Peacemaker before he arrives for Mortal Kombat 1 next week below, and there should be a new Kombat Kast episode in the coming days to show him off in more detail.
