Manchester United secured a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Liverpool at Anfield.
The Red Devils showcased resilience and grit against the league leaders in a thrilling clash.
United started the game with intensity and composure, aiming to control possession and nullify Liverpool’s attacking threats.
Rasmus Hojlund came closest to scoring in the first half, but his effort was denied as both teams went into the break level.
United took the lead early in the second half when Lisandro Martinez smashed a brilliant finish past Alisson.
Liverpool responded quickly, with Cody Gakpo finding the net just before the hour mark to bring the home side back on level terms.
A controversial penalty decision against Matthijs de Ligt allowed Mohamed Salah to put Liverpool ahead.
Ruben Amorim reacted decisively by introducing Alejandro Garnacho, who injected pace and creativity into United’s attack.
Garnacho’s involvement proved vital, assisting Amad Diallo to calmly slot home the equaliser with ten minutes remaining.
Both sides pressed for a late winner in the final moments, but the points were shared.
Despite a solid performance from United, a “worry” was raised by two well-known pundits.

After the match, speaking to Premier League Productions, former United stars Michael Owen and Paul Scholes raised concerns about Kobbie Mainoo’s stamina and ability to complete full games.
Scholes pointed out that Mainoo rarely finishes matches, noting that the midfielder has only completed 90 minutes in six of his 15 starts this season.
“Mainoo with his legs has to be a worry,” Scholes remarked, addressing the lack of reliable midfield options.
Owen echoed those concerns, adding, “He looks heavy, but yeah, he tires a lot, doesn’t he?
“And it’s one thing he’s an unbelievable player, but if there’s one thing about Mainoo, it’s getting around the pitch.
“His ability to last a full game at the high intensity that’s needed.”
Owen highlighted the lack of alternatives in midfield.
The Englishman pointed to the aging Christian Eriksen and Casemiro as options that may struggle to maintain the required energy levels.
In response, Owen concluded, “So, I guess you’re left with [Manuel] Ugarte and another. You’re left with Ugarte.”
