In the summer of 2022, Paul Pogba left Manchester United as a free agent.
His second spell at the club lasted six years, after joining in 2016 for a then-world record fee of £89million.
Throughout his time at the club, the Frenchman was the focal point of criticism from fans and pundits, usually due to his behaviour off the field.
After struggling with injuries in the 2021-22 season, he eventually left to join Juventus.

In an interview with Mail Sport, Paul Pogba revealed the true reason behind his United exit.
He noted that his desire to leave the Red Devils dated back to 2019, despite him playing his best football for the club at this time.
‘The year Jose went and Ole came, it was my best season at United but after the last game I told Ole and Ed Woodward that I thought it was my last year and that I wanted to leave.
‘I was 27 back then, it didn’t work out the way I wanted. I gave my best but I didn’t see the club going upwards,’ he said.
Pogba explained that Manchester City and Liverpool’s growth was noticeable, but United were stagnant in their development.

‘Manchester City and Liverpool were better than us and they were improving. Ole said yes (to me leaving) and that he would talk to Ed.
‘My head was already that I wanted to go but I came back for pre-season because I wanted to be professional.
‘I spoke to Ed to try to make a move but he blocked it. I didn’t want to play for United anymore but I had to be professional.
‘Mentally I wasn’t there and then I got the injuries,’ Pogba said.
The midfielder was banned from football for four years in 2023 for accidentally taking a supplement that increases testosterone.
His sentence was reduced to 18 months two weeks ago, which means he is eligible to train with a club in January and play again in March.
