An Indie World Showcase and a Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase is scheduled to take place today at 7:00 a.m. PT / 10:00 a.m. ET. The program will run for about 40 minutes featuring both streams back-to-back.
Considering that the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics was announced during the previous Nintendo Direct, it seems highly likely that the release date for this collection could be dropped during the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase portion of the stream.
As it turns out, the developers for the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics wanted to surprise and delight fans with how they revealed the collection. Based on the fan reception, it really feels like Capcom succeeded with this goal.
A listing on ShopTo appears to have already leaked the collections release date. If this turns out to be true, then we should expect it to be released on November 22, 2024.
What we do know is that the collection will contain The Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics will have X-Men: Children of the Atom, Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and The Punisher all on the disc itself — no downloads will be required for any of the titles.
Of course, we’ll also be paying close attention to the Nintendo Direct program for any other fighting game announcements that could happen.
