  • SNK reveals the modes in which Cristiano Ronaldo will be unavailable in with the launch of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

Cristiano Ronaldo is certainly one of the stranger combatants to be added as a guest character in a fighting game like Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. After all, Cristiano Ronaldo is a real life football star duking it out with fictional characters in the Fatal Fury world.

Though the character will be available at launch, it seems that he won’t initially be usable in every mode within Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves when it releases on April 24, 2025 (April 21, 2025 at midnight for early access).

According to SNK, Cristiano Ronaldo will not be available in Arcade Mode, Episodes of South Town, and Color Edit at launch. However, Ronaldo will eventually be included in Arcade Mode and Episodes of South Town in a future update.

This suggests that Ronaldo will never become a subject for the Color Edit feature. This is likely a consequence of dealing with implementing a real life person into the roster of a video game.

Of course, it’s curious to note that there have been no announcements like this for Salvatore Ganacci, another real life guest character appearing in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.

There’s always the possibility that Ronaldo could be added to the Color Edit feature in the future, but we’ll have to wait for that announcement to know for sure.

  • How to Rebuff Sea 1 Rods in Fisch Sea 2 (Anti-Debuff Altar Guide)

Fisch has released one of the best game-changing features in the game that is going to help you catch all the Sea 2 fishes with ease using your very old rods. Yes, you heard that right, there will be no more -50% debuff to all your Sea 1 rods. This is made possible by the new Anti-Debuff Altar in Fisch that reverses all the nerfs. Want to breathe life back into your Sea 1 rods? Here’s a full guide on how to rebuff all your Sea 1 Rods in Fisch right here.

    Anti-Debuff Altar Location in Fisch

The Anti-Debuff Altar is located at the Cursed Shores Island of Sea 2 in Fisch. The island has a significant landmark, and as you approach it, you will notice the Cthulhu figure rising from the base of the island. So, to reach this area, grab a Fisch GPS and follow the simple steps below:

    • If you have spawned first at the Waveborne island, head southwest to reach the Island at these coordinates: X= -216, Y= 86, Z=1917.
    • Here, you will find the Brother Gleem NPC wearing a clown wig. Walk past this NPC, and you will find the Angler’s Hut a little ahead.
    • Now, go behind the hut, take the bridge, and reach the next part of the island where you will find a couple of stairs.
    • Walk past the stairs and past the Brother Murk NPC to find the entrance to the Anti-Debuff Altar location to your left.
    • This leads you to a tunnel, and you must head straight down to reach the Anti-Debuff Altar.

How to Rebuff Your Sea 1 Rods in Sea 2

Do note that reaching the Debuff Altar won’t be enough, and you’ll need a few items to apply this particular boost to your Sea 1 rods. Here is the list of items you will need to rebuff your Sea 1 Rods in Fisch. These are:

Once you have all the above items, take them to the podium and place them in their corresponding positions with the Sea Leviathan at the center, Moon Idol to the Left, and the Cursed Thread to the right.

When you have placed these items in their positions, make sure that it’s nighttime, and then hold the Sea 1 rod in your hand. Now, go near the Anti-Debuff Altar and press the ‘E‘ key. This will rebuff your Sea 1 rod.

Do note that doing this will completely remove the 50% debuff from all stats and return them back to original. Furthermore, this anti-debuff system will not work for all rods, as for instance, those you get from the sea 2. Now, go outside, and start capturing the fishes from the Sea 2 bestiary.

And that’s how you can rebuff your Sea 1 rods in Fisch. So, what are your thoughts on the new anti-debuff altar? Let us know in the comments below!

  • Google faces £5 billion lawsuit in the UK for alleged abuse of search dominance

Google is the subject of a new class action lawsuit in the United Kingdom. The plaintiff is seeking up to £5 billion ($6.6 billion) in damages. The case claims that Google abused its dominance in the online search ad market. The legal action was filed on Wednesday in the U.K. Competition Appeal Tribunal and alleges that Google restricted competing search engines to strengthen its own position and increase advertising prices.

The lawsuit is being led by competition law academic Or Brook, represented by law firm Geradin Partners. It covers hundreds of thousands of U.K.-based organizations that used Google’s search ad services between January 1, 2011, and the date of the claim.

Almost no choice but to use Google ads

“Today, UK businesses and organisations, big or small, have almost no choice but to use Google ads to advertise their products and services,” Brook said in a statement.

“Regulators around the world have described Google as a monopoly and securing a spot on Google’s top pages is essential for visibility.”

Brook added, “Google has been leveraging its dominance in the general search and search advertising market to overcharge advertisers. This class action is about holding Google accountable for its unlawful practices. It is also about seeking compensation on behalf of UK advertisers who have been overcharged.”

    Google denies wrongdoing

Google dismissed the allegations, describing the lawsuit as “yet another speculative and opportunistic case.” A spokesperson for the company said, “Consumers and advertisers use Google because it helpful, not because there are no alternatives,” and confirmed that Google plans to contest the claim vigorously.

The case makes use of data from a 2020 study conducted by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) of the United Kingdom. It revealed that Google accounted for 90% of all search advertising market revenue. The lawsuit cites strategies like agreements with smartphone brands to pre-install Chrome and Google Search. It also cites payments to Apple to maintain Google as Safari’s default search engine.

It also claims Google’s ad tool, Search Ads 360, offers better functionality with its own services than with those of rivals, further stifling competition.

The lawsuit adds to a growing list of legal and regulatory challenges faced by major U.S. tech firms. Google is currently appealing a €4.3 billion fine from the EU for anti-competitive practices related to Android. In the U.S., Meta faces a landmark antitrust trial. Similarly, in the U.K., Microsoft is being sued for £1 billion over alleged unfair pricing in the cloud computing market.

  • Speed Darlington suffers broken arm after losing to Portable in Celebrity Boxing Match (Video)

Controversial Nigerian rapper Darlington Okoye Achakpo, popularly known in music circles as Speed Darlington, suffered a broken arm after losing to street-hop singer Habeeb Okikiola, aka Portable, in a much-anticipated Celebrity Boxing Match.

The aftermath of the much-publicized boxing duel was captured in a video shared on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), where Speed Darlington (whose right hand was wrapped in a bandage tied around his neck) could be seen being helped out of the ring by his team members after the encounter.

The injury happened a few hours after it was announced that Portable had won their midnight bout, which had been highly anticipated because of the two fighters’ ongoing internet feud.

Speed Darlington left the venue nursing a clearly hurt arm, which was subsequently determined to be fractured and covered in bandages, marking the end of his night.

Clips from the celebrity battle, which took place on April 18, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Center in Lagos, have gone viral, demonstrating the high level of intensity within the boxing arena.

Recall that the feud between the two started in March when Darlington offered Portable N500,000 to play at his impending show, which Portable regarded as ludicrous and an insult, given that he charges N20 million every performance.

Portable’s remark started a heated debate, with Darlington expressing sorrow for inviting Portable and accusing him of insulting his mother.

The ‘Zazu’ crooner then said he will beat Darlington in a celebrity boxing battle in December 2023, just as he had done to well-known actor Charles Okocha.

  • Antony reveals reason behind Manchester United struggles

On-loan winger Antony has revealed the reasons behind the poor form that followed his arrival at Manchester United in 2022.

The winger was signed from Ajax for around £80m, after performing well under head coach Erik ten Hag in the Netherlands.

And Antony’s first season garnered promise, with the Brazilian scoring 10 goals and registering five assists during his adaptation to English football.

His following season was disappointing, however, and he struggled for minutes on the pitch following the departure of Ten Hag.

In January, new coach Ruben Amorim agreed to loan Antony out for the rest of the season, and the winger moved to Real Betis.

Since then, Antony has recaptured some of the form that attracted Manchester United to his signing, prompting further questions over his time at Old Trafford.

In an interview with ESPN Brazil, Antony suggested issues in his personal life “got in the way”.

He said: “I think that, apart from my football life, my personal life got in the way a lot, because of the things I went through, the moments I lived there.

“Like it or not, it’s affected me a lot. So, of course, I know the potential I have.

“It’s not for nothing that I went to a World Cup, it’s not for nothing that I was sold to United for a lot of money, and I know my worth.”

Antony’s form at Betis has led to discussions over the Brazilian’s future, with the Spanish club keen to keep him.

“People look at the moment, but they don’t look at the bigger picture, what happens to bring things about”, Antony continued.

“So, as I said, my feeling at United was that I had good moments, bad moments too, but of course I could have done more, I could have done better.”

Antony is due to return to Old Trafford at the end of the season, with Betis reportedly having a bid for a second loan move turned down.

The LaLiga club may return with another offer for the Brazilian, however, with some reports suggesting they may make a permanent bid.

  • Smart insoles designed for real-time health monitoring

A groundbreaking smart insole system developed by Ohio State University researchers could revolutionize healthcare by monitoring people’s walking in real-time, improving posture, and detecting early signs of conditions such as plantar fasciitis and Parkinson’s disease.

The smart insoles feature 22 pressure sensors and are powered by small solar panels attached to the tops of shoes, which store energy in safe, flexible lithium batteries. This self-powered device collects precise biomechanical data about gait, unique to each individual, and transmits it via Bluetooth to smartphones for instant analysis.

The insoles’ spatial sensing and machine learning capabilities can classify eight motion states, ranging from sitting to running, enabling personalized health tracking.

The sensors distributed from toe to heel provide insight into how pressure varies during activities such as walking and running. This information could support gait analysis in identifying abnormalities associated with diabetic foot ulcers, musculoskeletal disorders, or neurological conditions.

    New Ultrathin, Bluetooth-Connected Heated Insoles

The system also offers potential for injury prevention, rehabilitation monitoring, and customized fitness training.

Tests have demonstrated the insoles’ durability, with performance unaffected after 180,000 compression cycles. Researchers plan to enhance gesture recognition and test the technology on diverse populations to refine its capabilities.

This innovation, expected to hit the market within three to five years, could redefine health care and fitness, providing accessible tools for personalized health management. “The interface is flexible and thin, ensuring functionality during repetitive use,” said Li, a researcher involved in the study.

With advanced AI integration, the insoles offer opportunities for early diagnosis, effective treatment, and enhanced overall health.

  • ‘Military junk’ linked to cancer cluster to be dug up in Florida

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers started digging this week for military junk from World War II that is buried beneath the yards of hundreds of homes in South Patrick Shores, Florida, amid concerns that the military junk could be linked to an alleged cancer cluster in the community.

According to The Independent, residents of South Patrick Shores have claimed for multiple decades that health conditions, including various forms of cancer, are potentially linked to an old military landfill in the area. The outlet noted that prior to residential homes being built in the area in the 1950s, South Patrick Shores hosted a military landfill located near the Banana River Naval Air Station, which is now the location of Patrick Space Force Base.

The Independent reported that hazardous waste, such as old ammunition, unexploded artillery, fuel, and a variety of chemicals, are believed to be buried in South Patrick Shores.

According to The Independent, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers previously scanned a section of South Patrick Shores with ground-penetrating radar in a $5.8 million search for military waste. The outlet noted that over 300 houses are located on the 52-acre section that was previously scanned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

According to News 6, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers started digging for the military junk in the area this week following a county commission meeting regarding the issue last week. Brad Tompa, the leader of the project, told Brevard County commissioners, “If there is problematic soil or contaminants, then yes, it would have to be addressed.”

Tompa explained to the county commissioners that South Patrick Shores was an “uncontrolled dump” during World War II. During last week’s meeting, Brevard County Commissioner Katie Delaney asked Tompa, “Are you aware that there are residents who have dug in their own yards and that they have had massive side effects from the things that they have dug up in their yards?”

News 6 reported that Sandra Sullivan, a resident of South Patrick Shores, discovered bullets, lead, and a partial barrel of oil in her yard in 2018. “I know it’s made me sick,” Sullivan told News 6. “Every time I dug up something, between eight days and seven weeks, I would have symptoms.”

According to The Independent, a Florida Department of Health report from 2019 documented higher rates of bladder cancer and leukemia in the South Patrick Shores community than in other regions throughout the country. However, the department did not confirm the cause of the increased cancer rate.
