  • Easter: Seven Passengers Kidnapped In Kwara

No fewer than seven passengers travelling for the easter holidays have been kidnapped along the Obbo-Aiyegunle/Osi Road in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.

According to reports, the kidnappers ambushed a Toyota Sienna travelling from Abuja to Offa in Kwara State around 5pm on Saturday.

The kidnappers, however, spared three children who were travelling with their abducted parents.

It was gathered that it was the eldest of the children who were spared that reported the incident to the management of the transport company, Olumoh Express, Offa, that the victims boarded.

A statement issued on Sunday by the spokesperson of the Kwara State police command, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the abduction of the seven passengers.

According to the statement, “armed hoodlums numbering about eight reportedly intercepted a Sienna bus registered FFA 50xd, heading to Offa from Abuja and forcefully abducted seven occupants, including the driver.

“Upon receipt of the information, police operatives in collaboration with local vigilantes responded swiftly to the scene.

“The vehicle was recovered to the nearest police formation. During a coordinated search of the surrounding bush, three children aged between two and 12 years were located and safely rescued.

“One of the children was able to give the police detailed information of her guardian, who was contacted, and the three rescued children have been reunited with their relatives,” the statement added.

The command said it has intensified efforts to track down the perpetrators and secure the safe rescue of the victims.

  • SF Giants end road trip with whimper as Ryan Walker blows save

The fate of the Giants’ season wasn’t going to be determined by how they performed on this 10-game road trip against the New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Angels. A lot of ball still remains. But the cross country swing did serve as an early litmus test, one that tasked them with facing two of baseball’s best teams.

For all their excellent play in New York and Philadelphia, the trip ended with a whimper.

Ryan Walker inherited a three-run lead in the bottom of the ninth inning but blew the save and allowed four runs as San Francisco lost to Los Angeles, 5-4, on Easter Sunday at Angel Stadium, forcing the Giants to settle for a 5-5 road trip.

Walker stepped on the mound with a 4-1 lead having converted all five of his saves on the season, but San Francisco’s closer didn’t have his typical command from the jump. Walker plunked Zack Neto with the bases loaded, then allowed a game-winning, three-run double to Jo Adell.

Justin Verlander entered play with a 6.75 ERA, the worst mark in the starting rotation, but turned in a vintage outing, allowing one earned run over six innings with six strikeouts. The 42-year-old retired the first nine batters he faced to begin the game before allowing a leadoff double to Taylor Ward to start the fourth inning. The right-hander only needed 31 pitches to complete the first three innings but labored through a 33-pitch fourth inning, managing to put another zero on the board despite the Angels loading the bases.

The Giants scored the game’s first run in the top of the fifth when Willy Adames drove in Heliot Ramos with a single, but the Angels got that run right back when Zack Neto homered on Verlander’s first pitch in the bottom of the fifth. San Francisco re-took the lead in the top of the sixth with Huff’s first homer with his new team, a two-run shot that gave the Giants a 3-1 lead. Adames added an insurance run in the seventh with another RBI single. Those three runs, ultimately, weren’t enough for San Francisco’s typically steady bullpen.

The Giants will now return for what will be an emotional two-team homestand. They’ll begin with the Milwaukee Brewers, the team that Adames played for from 2021-24 before signing a franchise-record seven-year, $182 million deal with the orange and black. On Saturday, with Bruce Bochy’s Texas Rangers in town, the Giants will celebrate the career of Brandon Crawford, who announced his retirement this offseason.

  • Boruto Two Blue Vortex: Sarada Uchiha’s Mangekyo Sharingan Ohirume Explained

As most in the Naruto fandom would know, the Mangekyou Sharingan is the evolved version of the Sharingan, bound to the Uchiha clan. We have seen many highly proficient Mangekyou Sharingan users earlier, including Itachi, Sasuke, and Madara, among others. However, the one character that the fans have always wanted to awaken the Mangekyou Sharingan is Sarada Uchiha, the daughter of Sasuke and Sakura. Well, we do not have to wait any longer, as the prophecy has been fulfilled in the Boruto Two Blue Vortex manga. For those curious, learn about how and when Sarada awakened her Mangekyou Sharingan, along with its abilities, in this guide.

    Spoilers Warning:

This post contains spoilers for the Boruto Two Blue Vortex manga. So, read the manga (up to chapter 20) to avoid ruining the intended experience.

How and When Did Sarada Get Mangekyou Sharingan?

If you think Sarada awakened her Mangekyou Sharingan in her battle against Ryu, then I’m afraid to say you are wrong. The Uchiha clan members can only awaken their Mangekyou Sharingan whenever they go through a traumatic event. That is why only a limited number of the strongest Uchiha clan members have unlocked the evolved Sharingan eyes in the story.

Coming back to Sarada, when she hears the news of Naruto’s, the Seventh Hokage’s, death, she undergoes a traumatic event in her life. When Sarada asks her dad to help Boruto, she awakens her Mangekyou Sharingan for the first time in Boruto chapter 80. Even Sasuke confirms that it is the Mangekyou Sharingan in her teary eyes.

Since then, the fandom has been patiently waiting to see Sarada’s Mangekyou Sharingan abilities in action. The long wait has now come to an end since Sarada once again activates her sun-patterned Mangekyou Sharingan in the Boruto Two Blue Vortex manga series. Team Konoha has teamed up with Sunagakure’s ninjas to take down Ryu and Matsuri. In the thrilling battle against Ryu, the evil version of Shinki speared Yodo with his Iron Sand.

Even Yodo wonders why Sarada is holding back the true powers of the Uchiha clan. Upon hearing Yodo’s words and being on the verge of death, Sarada reawakens her Mangekyou Sharingan and unleashes its abilities for the first time in chapter 20 of the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga.

Every main character, including the likes of Boruto, Himawari, and others, has been getting major power-ups in the sequel Boruto manga. Now, Sarada has also received a much-needed power spike by re-awakening her Mangekyou Sharingan.

After activating it in front of her father, Sasuke, for the first time, this is only the second time we see her using it to attack. We have learned a little about Sarada’s Mangekyou Sharingan abilities after her battle with a Human God Tree named Ryu.

Sarada: Mangekyou Sharingan Ohirume’s First Ability

In the ongoing battle, both the teams of Konoha and Sunagakure were easily overwhelmed by Ryu’s Iron Sand powers. Araya was doing well against Ryu’s sandy powers, thanks to his sword, but it was later seized by Ryu. When this situation evolved into a life-or-death moment, Sarada activated her Mangekyou Sharingan to produce black spheres that sucks all the iron sand into a void.

So, one of Sarada’s Mangekyou Sharingan abilities is related to “Space-Time Ninjutsu” as she can perform a feat similar to Obito’s renowned Kamui move. It is called the Mangekyou Sharingan: Ohirume in Boruto Two Blue Vortex chapter 21. This title must have been named after Amaterasu, the Japanese sun goddess, who is also known as “Ōhirume no Muchi no Kami.”

In addition to absorbing her targets, Sarada is also confirmed to generate gravity using her black spheres. Thus, she has the power to control gravity with her eyes and use it to make selected targets float and catch them off guard. That is how she makes Ryu levitate and then shreds him into pieces by using her black spheres in chapter 21.

Sarada Uchiha Mangekyou Sharingan Ohirume’s Second Ability

Moreover, every Mangekyou Sharingan user has a unique ability in both eyes. Only one of her powers is shown in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga at the time of writing. As a result, Sarada is predicted to possess the infamous Amaterasu ability, similar to her father Sasuke and late uncle Itachi.

Since her Mangekyou Sharingan derives its name from Amaterasu, the Japanese Sun Goddess, she might also inherit her family’s Amaterasu ability in the future. As Amaterasu is unique to her father and uncle, it will be perfect for Sarada to inherit the power of the black flames.

We have to wait one whole month to find out more about Sarada’s Mangekyou Sharingan powers. In the meantime, let us know your thoughts about her new abilities in the comments below.

  • Bakare Warns Tinubu To Stop ‘Playing God’

The Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC), Pastor Tunde Bakare, has cautioned President Bola Tinubu to stop “playing God”.

The renowned pastor warned the president that his administration is steering the nation off course.

Delivering a state of the nation broadcast on Sunday at the church’s auditorium in Ikeja, Lagos, Bakare urged the President to adopt a more humble approach to governance.

“Stop playing God,” Bakare said bluntly, emphasizing that while he disagrees with Tinubu, he does not wish for him to fail.

“The current administration is steering the polity adrift,” he continued. “It is time for this government to embrace humility.”

Bakare clarified that his address was not meant to condemn, but to guide the leadership toward a better path.

He lamented that the legislature, a vital pillar of democracy, is crumbling under the President’s leadership.

He also criticised the National Assembly for suspending Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, arguing that her suspension was a response to her call for accountability.

He urged Senate President Godswill Akpabio to explain the action and uphold principles of transparency.
