  • Opinions differ as Nigerian clergyman, Poju Oyemade, said Nigerians are being programmed on social media to h@te their country

Nigerians are currently reacting to a trending video of a Lagos-based clergyman, Pastor Poju Oyemade, saying that Nigerians are being programmed to hate their country.

While preaching in his church, the cleric opined that living  conditions and operating businesses in Nigeria is better when compared to the US.

    In his words

‘’People are being programmed to hate their country which is ‘self hatred’. I was in America and I sat down with some Nigerians and they started. I told them that in Nigeria, a person will graduate as a medical doctor and spend N500, 000 throughout to become a doctor and they are working. You will graduate from John Hopkins as a doctor and you spend $2000, are you okay? Do you know how much money you will spend?

I said to them in Nigeria, if you tell a Nigerian to do two jobs he will curse your life out. He will come to America, wake up in the morning, do first job, do second job, do Uber…I said if they put the fraction of this energy they put here in their country, they would have blown. They kept quiet”

He recounted how one of the branches of his church in Yaba organized a tradefair and how some of the church members made great returns. He argued that such people would not have made such great returns if the tradefair were to have been organized in the US.

‘’Yaba did a tradefair for church members to sell things. They just put tents in the car park. I thought it was a waste of time. One lady came to meet the pastor and said thank you for doing this. She was selling wigs. Somebody came out from the church and bought three wigs. Each wig is N250, 000. That business is not registered. N750, 000 that girl carried home. If somebody is in their house and just selling wigs, are they unemployed? But are they registered as employed? No! Our statistics here is different. Understand your terrain.

In Ameriac, you will sell like that? IRS is coming for you! Out of that N750, 000, N200, 000 belongs to the government. Don’t drop it, you will see jail. Understand your terrain so you will know how to play.

This is Nigeria, the land of opportunity where good cometh! Leave all this people saying Nigeria happened to them. What are you talking about?

In America, there are four people groups doing better than Caucasians. Nigerian-American are number two”

His comment has been greeted with mixed reaction from Nigerians. While some Nigerians agree with him, others were against.

  • How to Get Iron in RuneScape DragonWilds

Surviving in RuneScape DragonWilds can be very hard. With a world filled with constant danger, you’ll need all your wits and the best gear to survive. Iron will help you craft some of the strongest armor and weapons in the game, fully equipping you for the end-game areas in RuneScape DragonWilds. But where to get it? Here is a complete guide on how to get iron in RuneScape DragonWilds and how you can craft iron Bars from it.

Where to Get Iron Ore in RuneScape DragonWilds

Iron Ore can only be found in Stormtouched Highlands in RuneScape Dragonwilds. This area is located West of Fractured Plains and is one of the high-level areas in the game. If you’re having trouble with how to get here, then refer to our image below for the location. The enemies here are extremely strong, and you will need at least Power Level 3 gear to survive here.

Image Credit: Jagex (screenshot by Sanmay Chakrabarti/Beebom)

After you have entered Stormtouched Highlands, look for the Iron Ore Node. These look like normal ore deposits and can be found all over the Stormtouched Highlands. You can use the ‘Detect Ore + Clay’ Dragonwilds spell to have the ore deposits marked in the area. Once you have found an Iron Ore Node, you will have to mine it to get the Iron Ore.

How to Mine Iron Ore in RuneScape DragonWilds

After you have found an iron Ore Node, you will have to mine it. Unfortunately, a normal Pickaxe won’t work. You will need to craft a Bronze Pickaxe before you can mine the iron Ore Node in RuneScape DragonWilds. Here are the materials required to craft a Bronze Pickaxe:

    • 5 Bronze Bars
    • 4 Oak Logs
    • 2 Leather

Bronze bars can be crafted using Copper and Tin using a Furnace. Oak Logs can be obtained by cutting down an Oak Tree with a Bronze Axe. Leather can be crafted using Animal Hide or Animal Hide Scraps using the Tannery.

You can only craft a Bronze Pickaxe on a Smithing Forge. Here are the materials required to build a Smithing Forge:

Image Credit: Jagex (screenshot by Sanmay Chakrabarti/Beebom)

You can craft Coarse Threads from Flax using a Spinning Wheel, and you can obtain Vault Cores from Vaults. Now, build the Smithing Forge inside your shelter and craft the Bronze Pickaxe. Finally, head to the Iron Ore node and use the Bronze Pickaxe to mine it.

How to Craft an Iron Bar in RuneScape DragonWilds

Iron Ore by itself is useless in RuneScape DragonWilds. You need to process the Ore into an iron bar to use it for crafting weapons, armors, and other items. To process iron ore, you need to build a Furnace first. Here are the materials required to build a Furnace in RuneScape DragonWilds:

    • 24 Stone
    • 6 Clay
    • 4 Charcoal
    • 10 Fire Rune
    • 8 Vault Shard
    Furnace build in RuneScape Dragonwilds
Image Credit: Jagex (screenshot by Ishan Adhikary/Beebom)

Clay can be mined in Whispering Swamps, Charcoal can be crafted by processing logs or planks in a Kiln, Fire Runes can be crafted in a Rune Altar, and Vault Shards can be collected inside Vaults. Now, build the Furnace in an exposed area and put the iron ore inside to process it. You will also need Charcoal as fuel to complete the process.

Three iron ores create one iron bar, so you will need to farm a lot of iron ores if you want to get all the Iron gear in the game.

So, that’s everything you need to know about how to get iron in RuneScape DragonWilds. If you have any questions about this guide, let us know in the comments, and we’ll be happy to help.

  • Samsung Wallet Is Quietly Testing Two New Features in the U.S.

Samsung is quietly testing two new tools in its Wallet app—but only if you’re in the U.S., and only if you’re part of a select group. The pilot program starts April 28 and runs through June 6. If you’re chosen, you’ll get early access to features that aim to make paying and sending money simpler, smoother, and—more importantly—less reliant on third-party apps.

Installment Payments, No Credit Check Required

The first feature in testing is Installment Payments. The idea is straightforward: instead of paying for a purchase all at once, you split the total into smaller, manageable chunks. What makes this stand out? No credit check.

That’s right—no forms to fill, no dings to your score. Just open Samsung Wallet, make a purchase, and choose the installment option at checkout. The feature works with certain Visa and Mastercard credit cards, thanks to a partnership with buy-now-pay-later company Splitit. If your card qualifies and the store supports Samsung Wallet, you’re set.

It’s a subtle but significant shift. Where many financing tools lean on credit reports, this one skips that step entirely. It’s frictionless—and kind of the point.

Send Money Without the App Shuffle

The second feature is called Send Money, and it’s designed to eliminate one of the most common payment annoyances: app compatibility.

    samsung wallet

Rather than requiring the recipient to download a specific app or sign up for a new service, Samsung lets users send money directly to someone’s debit card. No hoops, no extra steps. Tap your phone, or send funds online, and the money shows up in their linked bank account—as long as the card is connected.

It’s the kind of straightforward functionality that probably should’ve existed already. And in 2025, it finally does.

    Just a U.S. Test—For Now

At the moment, both features are available to U.S. users invited into the early access program. Samsung hasn’t shared when—or if—a full rollout will follow. But this type of soft launch isn’t just about feature testing; it’s a way to gauge real-world use, gather feedback, and fine-tune the experience before making it more widely available.

An international release is likely on the roadmap, but Samsung’s playing it cool for now.

For users, the perks are clear: less friction, less waiting, and fewer apps cluttering up your wallet (digital or otherwise). For Samsung, it’s a chance to inch closer to becoming a go-to financial tool, not just a place to store loyalty cards.

  • Warriors’ defense stifles No. 2 seed Rockets in NBA playoff-opening win – Paradise Post

Steve Kerr’s simple gameplan boils down to one point of faith.

“If it’s a halfcourt game, I really think our defense can get it done this series,” the Warriors coach said Sunday night.

The Warriors backed up Kerr’s well-earned confidence by holding the higher-seeded, homecourt Houston Rockets to their lowest scoring output of the season in a 95-85 win in Game 1 of what is shaping up to be a bruising first-round Western Conference playoff matchup.

The Rockets’ rebounding edge allowed them to take 11 more shots and they still couldn’t match the Warriors’ scoring output, thanks to a Golden State defense that held them to 39.1% shooting from the field and only six 3-pointers on 29 attempts (20.7%).

“I think, overall, we just flew around,” said Draymond Green, named one of three finalists for the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year award earlier in the day. “We didn’t give up any easy looks. We followed our defensive gameplan. Just make them take tough shots.”

The Rockets’ aggressive, often literally hands-on approach to guarding Stephen Curry garnered attention after they held him to 3 points in their final regular season meeting, but it was the Warriors’ physicality that caught Houston coach Ime Udoka’s attention.

With it being the first postseason game for Alperen Sengun, Jalen Green, Amen Thompson and many others on the Rockets’ young roster, Udoka said he didn’t believe “the moment” got to them “but I would say (the Warriors’) physicality at times, just going after guys.”

Segun was the only Rocket in double figures until midway through the fourth quarter and finished with 26 points — the only Houston player with more than 11 — but even he acknowledged afterward that, “I think we were ready … I will say, I think we were nervous a little bit.”

Green, who averaged 21.0 points per game during the regular season, was held to 7 on 3-of-15 shooting, while playoff veteran Fred VanVleet went 4-of-19 from the field and 2-of-13 from distance. Jabari Smith Jr., who scored 11 points off the bench, said it wasn’t just a poor shooting night.

“Our spacing was a little thrown off tonight,” he said. “They were crowding the paint a lot on us. We’ve just got to figure out ways to counteract that. They were packing the paint, trapping Jalen (and) Fred, kind of funneling everything. They were trying to make us make the extra pass and we weren’t making it tonight.”

The Rockets ranked in the bottom third of the NBA in 3-point attempts in the regular season, and Kerr joked that it “felt like 1997 out there” with their physical, inside-the-arc offensive style. They averaged 113.4 points per game, 13th-most in the NBA, but earned the No. 2 seed with their defense.

The Rockets’ defense ranked seventh in the NBA over 82 games. The Warriors’ has been the best since Jimmy Butler III arrived.

Green was asked if the win was any more satisfying given the circumstances.

  • A dark pall of death hangs languidly from north to south. Nigeria is gradually becoming a national morgue – Kukah

The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Hassan Kukah, has voiced serious concern over Nigeria’s worsening security crisis, warning that the country is gradually becoming a vast national morgue due to ongoing violence and incessant killings.

Delivering his Easter message on Sunday, April 20, Bishop Kukah lamented the deepening human suffering, describing the current reality as one marked by “a culture of brutality and savagery never witnessed in the history of our dear country.”

Using the metaphor of the crucifixion, Kukah illustrated the pain endured by Nigerians and called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to urgently act to save citizens from what he described as “this cross of evil.” He acknowledged that the president did not create the current crisis but stressed that Nigerians have remained “bleeding and dangling on this cross of pain and mindless suffering for far too long.”

Bishop Kukah condemned the rising tide of kidnappings, killings, and violent crimes, emphasizing that no household or community in the country remains untouched by the wave of insecurity. “A dark pall of death hangs languidly from north to south. Every day, innocent citizens are kidnapped and held under the most inhuman conditions. Nigeria is reaching a breaking point,” he warned.

He also criticized the government’s economic policies, particularly its response to hardship through palliative distributions, which he said undermines the dignity of citizens. While acknowledging the necessity of removing fuel subsidies and the resultant increase in available resources, Kukah highlighted the dangers faced by farmers, noting that farming has been among the most perilous occupations in Nigeria for more than a decade. He stressed that palliatives are not enough and called for sustainable food access and security.

The Bishop urged President Tinubu to recognize food security as a constitutional right, saying, “Make food security a constitutional right for all citizens. Mr. President, please bring us down from this painful cross of hunger.”

Despite the grim assessment, Kukah urged Nigerians to remain hopeful, reminding them of their collective duty to dispel the darkness that has enveloped the nation. “The structural deformities, iniquities, and corruption of our country must not be an excuse to lose hope. We are the light of the world, a city set on a hill. With the light of Christ, we can build a society that reflects the will of our Creator,” he said.

He concluded his Easter message with blessings for the nation and a call for renewed faith in its future. “I wish you, Mr. President, and all Nigerians, a blessed and happy Easter,” Kukah said.

  • The Last of Us Season 2 Episode 2 Ending Song Has a Deeper Meaning (Explained)

Since its first season came out, The Last of Us has been regarded as the best video game adaptation to ever hit our screens. However, while there is good, it is followed by an equal share of bad, which we get to see with Joel’s death in the latest episode of The Last of Us Season 2. Even though this was incredibly sad, one has to applaud the attention to detail given to Joel’s demise, with a familiar song being played in the background at the end of The Last of Us Season 2 Episode 2. Now, if you thought that it was just some random song, you would be highly mistaken since it has a deeper meaning (my video game fans would’ve recognized it already). So, without further ado, let’s dive right into what it stands for!

What is the Song in The Last of Us Season 2 Episode 2 Ending?

Image Credit: HBO (via Warner Bros. Discovery/ Liane Hentscher)

By the end of TLOU Season 2 Episode 2, we see that Abby has killed Joel and walks away with her crew after injuring Ellie. We see that an injured Ellie crawls to Joel’s dead body and holds him near, and as she does so, we hear a song play in the background in a familiar voice. In the final moments of The Last of Us Season 2 Episode 2, we hear Ashley Johnson’s voice singingThrough the Valley” by Shawn James.

If that name does not ring a bell, let me remind you that Ashley Johnson is the actor who voiced Ellie in both The Last of Us games. She sang this cover for the trailer of The Last of Us 2, and it has now been featured in this episode.

What Does The Song At The End of TLOU Season 2 Episode 2 Mean?

One might think that the song at the end of The Last of Us Season 2 is there to lull the viewers and have them understand the gravity of the events; that is Joel’s death. However, the song “Through the Valley” translates to a much deeper meaning than that. The song serves two purposes — first of all, it acts as a musical representation of the scene, and a particular section of lyrics is layered over here. When Abby had just killed Joel and was walking through the snow with her crew, we hear the lyrics:

“I fear no evil, ’cause I’m blind to it all. And my mind and my gun, they comfort me. Because I know I’ll kill my enemies when they come.”

Similarly, when the Infected attack Jackson, and the colony somehow survives after suffering from massive losses, we see Tommy break down in tears as the lyrics sing,

“Surely, goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life. And I will dwell on this earth forever more.”

The most well-placed scene to the lyrics was when Joel’s body is being dragged by Jessie and Ellie through the snow, and the lyrics say,

“Oh, and I walk beside the still waters, and they restore my soul. But I know when I die, my soul is damned. But I know when I die, my soul is damned.”

These lyric specifically sound as if Joel is talking to Ellie and is comforting her as he tells her that the day he went guns blazing into that hospital and killed those soldiers and Abby’s father, he knew someday someone will come looking for him for taking so many lives, telling her that his “soul is damned”.

Moreover, one can also look at the song as a warning from Joel to Ellie, warning her not to follow the same path of violence and vengeance he did. However, we all know what is to come from this point on, so let’s wait and see what we have in the upcoming episodes and stay tuned with us for more!
