SAN FRANCISCO – One of Golden State’s best defenders is questionable for its Tuesday night play-in game against Memphis.
Moses Moody began suffering back spasms during the morning shootaround and is a game-time decision.
Moody has played in 74 games and has been an every-night starter next to Jimmy Butler during the second half of the season. He has averaged 9.8 points while being arguably the team’s top perimeter stopper.
Should he play, Warriors coach Steve Kerr said Moody is expected to be the primary defender on Memphis superstar point guard Ja Morant.
But if he can’t go, or is limited, then the Warriors believe they still have other solid options to throw at the player who scored 36 in the teams’ last matchup on April 1.
“Gary’s healthy, so Gary (Payton II) will guard him,” Kerr said. “Brandin Podziemski too, you now, would be the two main guys, but we’ll mix and match and go from there.”
Regardless of who is guarding him, Kerr said that keeping Morant out of transition will be key. The Grizzlies lead the NBA in pace at 103.69 possessions per game.
Kerr said that to counter that, it is not as simple as walking the ball up the floor on each possession.
“It’s not about playing slower, it’s about playing smarter,” Kerr remarked. “Way too many turnovers the other night against the Clippers, and we can’t have those careless turnovers tonight and expect to get away with it given their pace.”
The Warriors beat Memphis 134-125 in early April, with Curry scoring 52 points and making a dozen 3-pointers.
“I think we can draw a lot from that game, for example … allowing Curry to go for 52 points is not a winning recipe,” Grizzlies coach Tuomas Iisalo quipped.
Kuminga’s role up in the air
After being a regular part of the rotation since coming back from a severe ankle injury in March, Jonathan Kuminga was a healthy scratch for Sunday’s regular-season finale against the Clippers.
Kerr declined to say whether he had spoken to Kuminga about his role in the playoffs moving forward, shaking his head when asked. When questioned if he was concerned about Kuminga’s morale, Kerr kept things short.
“When you through the 82-game season, you factor in everything,” Kerr said. “You try to help everybody along, understanding where everyone is. When you get to the playoffs, everything goes out the window.”
The full release of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is now just over a week away, but players got to get their hands on the game a bit early.
SNK has now released the official character usage and match up chart data from Fatal Fury’s second open beta test.
There were nine playable fighters to pick from in the most recent beta, and some of them were clearly much more popular than others.
For the combined Arcade and Smart Style control players, Tizoc would actually be the most played character of the whole event with an impressive 16.4% usage rate.
This is likely due, however, to the grappler being the only new character added to the roster over the first beta, so more players were curious to check him out.
Terry Bogard would take second place with 14.4% with Rock right behind his mentor at 14.3%.
Interestingly, the newcomer Preecha would take up the fourth spot while the other, Vox Reaper, was down at sixth.
There were two characters in particular who did not get used nearly as much as the rest of the beta roster, though, with Kain only pulling in 7.4% and B. Jenet at the bottom with 6.5%.

Looking at just the Arcade Style players does put Rock just slightly over Terry while Mr. Bogard was actually the most popular Smart Style character.
As for the match ups, things looked a bit difference in terms of performance in-game.
Kain actually ended up with the highest win rate of them all by a bit of a margin with a whopping 57.79% average.
He also had the best match up in the beta over Tizoc with a 66.53% victory chance as well as the second best over Jenet.
Terry and Hotaru were the only other characters with notably high win rates though Rock and Vox were also on the positive side of things.
Tizoc unsurprisingly then had the lowest win rate at just 43.82% while Preecha, Jenet, and Mai were all under 50% as well.
These rankings may very well change with the full release’s 17 characters, especially after seeing what Christiano Ronaldo and Salvatore Ganacci can do, but it’s still interesting to see how the new game may be shaping up at the start of things.
We’ll have to wait for the next batch of rankings, though, to get a clearer picture of how the streets of South Town are faring.

The Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Ikeja has ordered the remand of one Adeshina Adeyemi, who is accused of r3ping a 17-year-old girl.
The defendant allegedly r@ped the minor twice, on 15 August 2019 and 22 February 2024.
In accordance with Nigerian law, the identity of the survivor, a minor, has been withheld to protect her privacy.
Adeyemi is also accused of assaulting the victim with a cane, causing bodily harm.
He faces two charges of defilement and physical assault, which are alleged to violate sections 137 and 173 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State.
Section 137 criminalises sexual intercourse with a minor and mandates life imprisonment upon conviction, while Section 173 stipulates that unlawful assault is a felony punishable by up to three years in prison.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Following his plea, the prosecution counsel, Inumidun Solarin, requested that the defendant be remanded in a correctional facility.
Solarin also informed the court of her intention to present five witnesses in the case and requested a Yoruba interpreter.
With no objection from the defence counsel, Scholastica Nwogu, Judge Rahman Oshodi ordered the remand of the defendant.

After losing Sarah, Joel lost all will to live, but he had to keep on living in the post-apocalyptic world where no one cared about each other. Joel became a smuggler for his survival, and that was working well for him. But things changed for Joel when he stumbled upon Ellie, a young girl who needed to be escorted (read smuggled) to a different corner of the country.
At first, Ellie was just another person who had to be escorted to the Fireflies safely, but Joel later learned that the girl could be the most important person to escort in his entire life. She was immune to the Cordyceps brain infection and possibly carried the cure for the infection in her bloodstream. This made her the most significant person alive on the planet.
So, even without any emotional connection with Ellie, Joel had to take care of her and protect her from any harm. However, slowly and surely, Joel grows past the “necessity” part and starts seeing his own daughter in Ellie.
Joel never forgot Sarah; in a sense, he never moved on from what happened to his daughter. He always felt guilty for not being able to protect his daughter. But now, he has found Ellie, who has no family, and she is out in this dangerous world all alone. She desperately needs a fatherly figure who can love and protect her, and Joel is fully equipped to fill that void in Ellie’s life. At the same time, Joel can move past his guilt by protecting this young girl. Ellie not only gives Joel a second chance at life, but she also gives him a bigger purpose to live.
Ellie lost everyone she loved to the infected, including her mother, so she didn’t know how to love. However, somehow, she was able to see Joel’s sensitive side and sense all the pain the man was hiding deep in his heart. Ellie realizes that Joel is no longer protecting her for the sake of humanity; instead, he starts considering her his daughter. In this God-forsaken world, selfless love is rare to find, and due to some bizarre turn of events, both Joel and Ellie find that love through each other.
The Unfortunate Turn In Joel And Ellie’s Relationship

Even though Ellie found Joel on her journey, she still wanted to serve the bigger purpose — to save humanity. The sad part about all this was that Ellie wouldn’t have survived the surgery. She would have been okay with it, but Joel wasn’t. He had already lost one daughter; he couldn’t lose another.
Joel not only killed the only person who was capable of performing the surgery on Ellie and making a cure for the infection, but he also lied to Ellie about everything. The lie holds for some time, but it comes out in the open after a few years.
Ellie couldn’t accept the fact that Joel did such a heinous act and lied about it. Ellie stayed angry with Joel for a long time, for the right reasons, of course. Joel doesn’t let Ellie fulfill her destiny and commit a crime against humanity, but she soon learns that the man would have done it all over again if given another chance. She finally starts to see what Joel means to her, and even though she can’t forgive him, Ellie is ready to give him another chance.
But guess what? Just like Joel robbed Ellie of her destiny, Abby robbed Ellie of her second chance with Joel. Ellie wasn’t angry because Abby killed Joel for the wrong reasons. She knew that Abby was out for revenge; in fact, Ellie herself was angry with the man for killing those people. Instead, Ellie wanted to kill Abby because she didn’t let her forgive Joel. Joel was killed before Ellie could forgive him, and that became the root cause of Ellie’s anger.
Joel and Ellie’s relationship was complex yet beautiful. Of course, Joel couldn’t live a happy life with Ellie and see her grow up or get married, which seems incomplete. But that’s life, isn’t it? We don’t get to experience life how we want to. Life takes its own course, and we can’t do anything about it.
The silver lining in Joel and Ellie’s story is that, unlike Sarah, Joel is able to save Ellie. And he died knowing that Ellie was ready to give him another chance, and maybe that was enough for him to say goodbye to this world and meet Sarah in the afterlife.

Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday adjourned the $150 million suit filed by a Nigerian, Chianugo Peter, against Google LLC and GoDaddy.com LLC, over alleged contract breach till May 27 for hearing.
The judge fixed the date for the defence to cross-examine Peter after he was led in evidence virtually by his lawyer, Emmanuel Ekpenyong, in the suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/238/2023.
The suit followed the alleged shutdown of Peter’s YouTubeAudio.com domain name after eight years of promotional and marketing efforts.
In his earlier originating summons filed by Ekpenyong of the law firm of Fred-Young & Evans LP, the Nigerian alleged that the defendants shut down his domain and business name and transferred the rights over the name to Google LLC, an American multinational technology company.
The suit was filed on April 14, 2023.
Although GoDaddy.com LLC neither filed any process nor represented in court, Google LLC, in its initial statement of defence filed on November 10, 2023, by its lawyer, Mark Mordi (SAN), of the law firm of Aluko & Oyebode, urged the court to dismiss Peter’s suit for lack of merit.
Justice Egwuatu, in April 2024, gave the plaintiff go-ahead to amend his originating processes after his lawyer moved the application for same and it was not opposed by the defence counsel.
In his amended statement of claim dated April 29, 2024, Peter sought 10 reliefs.
He sought a declaration that GoDaddy.com was wrong to shut down the YouTubeAudio.com domain name on December 7, 2022 and that Google was wrong to remove “YTAudio” with its website youtubeaudio.com from its Google PlayStore on December 25, 2023, without adequate compensation to him.
Last week saw just under 3,000 Manchester United fans travel to France to support The Red Devils in their first leg of the Europa League Quarter-Final.
Unfortunately for the fans, a disastrous showing from Andre Onana saw United lose their 2-1 lead in the dying moments of extra time, losing the advantage going into this week’s game.
However, this wasn’t the start, nor the end of their problems.
Before the game, fans had to travel 13 miles from the centre of the French city to a conference centre to collect their entrance wrist bands for the game.
Then the fans boarded shuttle buses to the ground, with the whole experience generating significant extra expense for the away fans.
But this was nothing to the treatment they’d receive after the game.
Following the disappointing fixture, United fans were held back for an hour by the Lyon police, with the authorities even using tear gas against the fans.
Now, The Daily Mail has reported that the away fans are exploring taking legal action in response to the treatment they endured.
The report explains that the tear gas was used to stop United fans trying to access toilet facilities during the mandatory hold-back, facilities they were assured they’d have access to.
Now the Manchester United Supporters Trust are peaking with experts in both England and France to understand if there is scope for a legal challenge.
Whilst there are no details at this time for what it entails, it’s understood that the French police are at the centre of the action being taken.

A male suspect was arrested after allegedly setting Democratic Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro’s mansion on fire while the governor’s family was asleep early on Sunday morning.
According to a probable cause affidavit released by Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo, “an individual attacked the Governor’s Residence in Harrisburg while Governor Shapiro and his family were within the residence.”
The probable cause affidavit noted that video surveillance obtained by law enforcement officials showed the suspect surveilling the governor’s mansion before “unlawfully entering the grounds over a wall in the early morning hours.”
“He approached one of the window[s] on the south side of the residence. Using a hammer he had brought, he quickly broke the window after multiple blows,” officials added in the probable cause affidavit. “He then threw a Molotov Cocktail into the residence igniting a substantial fire within. The perpetrator then moved to a window to the east and forcibly entered the residence. Within the Residence, he started two more fires with two other Molotov Cocktails. He then fled through a fire door.”
According to the affidavit, Shapiro and his family were forced to evacuate due to Sunday’s attack. The affidavit also confirmed that the governor’s mansion sustained “substantial damage” due to the fire.

According to Fox News, law enforcement officials identified the suspect as 38-year-old Cody Balmer during a Sunday evening news conference. Officials also told reporters that Sunday’s arson attack occurred at roughly 2 a.m.
The New York Post reported that Balmer told police officials that he had planned to beat the governor with a hammer if he had encountered Shapiro during Sunday’s incident. According to Fox News, Balmer is expected to be charged with terrorism, attempted murder, aggravated arson, and aggravated assault against an enumerated person.
During Sunday’s press conference, law enforcement officials confirmed that the fire at the governor’s mansion had been extinguished and that no one was injured in the attack. Police officials told reporters, “While the investigation is ongoing, the State Police is prepared to say at this time that this was an act of arson.”
During a Sunday press conference, Shapiro publicly addressed the attack against his home, saying, “This kind of violence is not okay. This kind of violence is becoming far too common in our society. And I don’t give a damn if it’s coming from one particular side or the other, directed at one particular party or another, or one particular person or another. It is not okay, and it has to stop. We have to be better than this, and we have a responsibility to all be better.”

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that the team will attempt to put on another magical night at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday when they take on Arsenal.
The defending champions will be hoping to overturn a 3-0 deficit against the Gunners in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash.
Arteta’s men produced a near-perfect performance to brush aside the 15-time champions of the competition in style at the Emirates Stadium last week.
Real Madrid are known to be the king of comebacks in Europe, especially when playing at the Santiago Bernabeu.
They have overcome the likes of Paris St Germain, Manchester City, and VfL Wolfsburg in recent years after losing the first legs with all the victories coming at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ancelotti is hoping that the team can tap into the magic at the iconic stadium on Wednesday.
He said, “The Bernabeu has magic, everyone knows it’s a special atmosphere. We need a bit of everything, quality and a complete game in terms of physicality and collective attitude. Not one of these things can go wrong.
“Madrid have the resources to turn this tie around. We have the quality, the commitment, the experience, the fans. The resources are there and now it’s time to make the best of it.
“(Games at the Bernabeu) are very important because the boost from the fans has helped us a lot. Tomorrow it will be the same, we need to play at our maximum level to try to change the tie. It’s very complicated at the moment, but tomorrow we’ll try to change that.”
Real Madrid have failed to win against Arsenal in the Champions League in their last three meetings.
Ancelotti admitted that the Gunners are a tough team to play.
He said, “I would say they are a very well organised team.
“They are not the most experienced, but they have a very clear idea both defensively and offensively. They are very focused on what they have to do. And they are more focused on that than on the atmosphere.”
Similarly, Real Madrid midfielder, Jude Bellingham is also confident that the team can turn the tie around at the Santiago Bernabeu.
He said: “I’ve heard it a million times since last week, I’ve seen a million videos – it’s really motivating stuff.
“It’s a night that’s made for Real Madrid. It was a night that would go down in history but also something that people are familiar with around this part of this world. Hopefully, we can add another special night.”
Real Madrid have progressed from 14 of their last 15 Champions League knockout ties when playing the second leg at home.
