  • Tekken 8 server maintenance for emergency update coming tonight

Tekken 8’s Season 2 update hasn’t exactly been well received by the playerbase as a whole, and the developers are going to try and amend that very soon.

Bandai Namco will be releasing an emergency balance update for Tekken 8 later tonight, April 16, but first the game will have to go through some server maintenance first.

The server maintenance is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. PT / 9:30 p.m. ET, which is the same time the patch notes are supposed to release.

It should last for approximately two hours, so servers should come back around 8:30 p.m. PT / 11:30 p.m. ET.

    Tekken’s Version 2.00.02 update should be available to download around 7 p.m. PT / 10 p.m. ET.

During this downtime, all online features will remain unavailable including matchmaking, the in-game store, lobbies and more.

Bamco has already laid out some of what they plan to change in the new patch to bolster their unpopular update that saw Tekken 8’s Steam reviews drop to “Overwhelmingly Negative” upon release at the start of the month.

They’re increasing the max health of characters for starters as well as adjusting overly high-reward moves for some characters, but that’s not all.

Another update is planned for mid-May to further hopefully improve the game with more balance changes.

Stay tuned for more updates and the patch notes for Tekken 8 once they become available.

The workshop which has the theme, “Strengthening Local Governance For Sustainable Development In The South-South Region”, took place between Monday 14 and Wednesday 16 April, 2025 at the Monty Suites Hotel.

“We are the true custodians of the constitutional renaissance that fought for local government autonomy.
The long suffocation of the executive arm is beginning to give way for administration of self-determination.
Autonomy is not merely the absence of control but the presence of competence, vision and institutional readiness. The power to act is meaningless without capacity to act right hence the theme of this workshop which is not only apt but timely.

“Autonomy is not a function but a force; it is not the end of struggle but the beginning of responsibility.
Are we the custodians of this new found autonomy ready to govern with vigilance, transparency, innovation and justice?” he queried.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Yakurr local government area and Chairman of Forum of Cross River State Local Government Chairmen, Hon. Yibala Inyang, said the workshop was part of efforts by ALGON to engage the entire chain of local government functionaries in a learning process that will boost their capacity and enrich their output.

“It is not only an opportunity for learning and growth but an opportunity to network,” he added.

  • Social media is now a ‘Terrorist organisation’- Sultan of Sokoto raises alarm

The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, has described social media as a “terrorist organisation” that must be urgently dealt with to preserve national security.

While speaking during the 17th executive committee meeting of the Northern Traditional Rulers’ Council held in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Tuesday, the Sultan lamented the role of social media in spreading misinformation and inciting unrest across the country.

“What happened has happened. It can’t come and be through social media. That’s one terrorist organisation…social media.

What they do… somebody will sit in his comfort zone and formulate stories and you will think that it is true. So, social media is a terrorist organisation that we must deal with. Security agencies must deal with this terrorist organisation called social media.”

How to Play Connections: Tips & Tricks to Solve the Puzzle

Given the fact you’re here, chances are that you already know how to play NYT Connections. As you might be able to tell by now, Connections by The New York Times is a word association game where players sort out 16 random words into four categories by finding a common ‘connection.’ This can be anything from a common sound to a deeper meaning.

That said, if you’re still confused, here are the best tips on how to play NYT Connections:

    • Simplicity is key: Connections will often throw ambiguous words at you. While it’s easy to get caught up in the details, the answer almost always lies in the simplest connections possible. So, instead of dear and deer being connected through a hunter-prey dynamic, they most likely connect because of a similar sound.
    • Watch those guesses: A key thing to note is Connections only gives you four chances in 24 hours for a single puzzle. As such, we advise not being trigger happy and carefully weighing in your words before pressing that submit button.
    • Shuffle Away: While a bit tricky, the sneaky Connections editor deliberately puts the first word placement as a misdirection. So the one golden tip here is to press that Shuffle button before you go on solving it.

If you’re still unsure how to proceed, check out our dedicated how-to-play NYT Connections guide for all the help you need.

We hope you had similar luck as I did for today’s game. If not, please let us know in the comments below!

  • PDP holds South-West congress, returns Ajisafe as chairman

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held its South-West congress on Wednesday and returned Mr. Kamorudeen Ajisafe as the party’s Zonal Chairman.

The election took place during the party’s zonal congress held at the Theophilus Ogunwusi Hall, UCH, Ibadan.

Also elected at the congress were Mr. Muyiwa Obagunwa as Zonal Secretary, Mr. Adeyemo Adetunji as Zonal Treasurer and Mr. Yahaya Adeleke as Zonal Financial Secretary.

Other elected zonal executive members are – Benson Adegbenro – Organising Secretary, Mrs. Bosede Adedibu – Zonal Women leader and Mr. Shefiu Adesina – Auditor.

In his acceptance speech, Ajisafe promised to move the party forward while soliciting support from party leaders.

He assured all party members that the PDP would win more states in the zone under his chairmanship.

In his welcome address, the Oyo state Governor, Seyi Makinde, charged party members in the zone to remain united.

He stressed that unity among members would enhance the progress of the party.

Makinde said the success of the zonal election would be a reference point for the forthcoming national congress.

In his goodwill message, the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, said the success of the election had confirmed that South-West PDP remained one entity and urged other PDP zones to emulate the region.

A former Akwa Ibom State Governor, Emmanuel Udom, supervised the conduct of the election, while representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) observed the exercise.

  • Sharpton Secures Meeting With PepsiCo On Equity Rollback

Rev. Al Sharpton speaking at Metropolitan AME Church Washington, D.C. (Wikimedia Commons)

By Stacy M. Brown, Senior National Correspondent

Rev. Al Sharpton said Monday that he will meet with PepsiCo CEO Ramon Laguarta this week following the company’s decision to roll back key diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. The meeting comes just weeks after Sharpton warned of a potential boycott in a letter dated April 4, where he condemned PepsiCo’s retreat from its DEI commitments. PepsiCo, whose portfolio includes Pepsi, Gatorade, Doritos, Mountain Dew, and Lay’s, informed employees in February that it would no longer set diversity goals for its managerial ranks or supplier base. The announcement drew swift backlash from civil rights advocates.

“You have walked away from equity,” Sharpton wrote in his letter to Laguarta. “Removing DEI hiring and retention goals and dismantling community partnerships with minority organizations are clear signals that political pressure has outweighed principle.” A spokesperson for PepsiCo did not respond to a request for comment. The National Action Network, which Sharpton founded and leads, has been pressuring major corporations to uphold DEI policies in the face of growing political and legal attacks. Since President Donald Trump’s return to the White House, numerous companies, including Walmart and Target, have scaled back internal programs to increase diversity and address systemic discrimination.

Trump has also eliminated DEI efforts across federal agencies and warned schools to do the same or risk losing federal funding. Sharpton said he plans to press Laguarta for clarity on the company’s DEI commitments and what steps, if any, PepsiCo still intends to take to support equal opportunity in hiring and contracting. In January, Sharpton launched a “buy-cott” urging consumers to shop at Costco in recognition of its continued investment in DEI, setting a contrast with companies pulling back. “That is the only viable tool that I see at this time, which is why we’ve rewarded those that stood with us,” Sharpton said.

  • Three first team stars Manchester United want to sell this summer

Manchester United are planning a mass overhaul this summer, with the squad needing huge improvements to have a better Premier League campaign next season.

The Red Devils currently sit in 14th place and are desperate to win the Europa League, facing Lyon tomorrow evening to save Champions League football for next year.

However, Ruben Amorim’s side has been plagued with consistent issues, including injuries, Andre Onana’s problematic goalkeeping and inconsistent and ineffective attacking play.

The squad are relying on Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund as their only strikers, with neither being a reliable goalscorer to the quality that United need.

Unfortunately though for Amorim, the club are also facing significant financial hardships, meaning some major sales will need to take place first to generate funds for new signings.

Now, GiveMeSport has reported three first-team stars that United are looking to offload this summer in a bid to grab new talent.

Manchester United look to sell three key players this summer

Firstly, as everyone expects, is Andre Onana. The Red Devils have already shortlisted four stars who they see as upgrades to the Cameroon international.

This shortlist includes Parma star Zion Suzuki, AC Milan’s Mike Maignan, Brighton’s goalie Bart Verbruggen and Porto shot-stopper Diogo Costa.

However Onana isn’t the only big name looking to be sold. Alongside him is the attacking duo of Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund.

Whilst Amorim now believes that Joshua Zirkzee has the ability to develop into a top striker for his side, wanting to keep him at Old Trafford, the same can’t be said about Hojlund.

The Red Devils are looking to cash in on interest from Napoli and Juventus, with a price tag of £51 million for the unwanted striker, whilst they’re also hoping for the same fee for Garnacho.

The sale of the attacking pair would free up a total of £135,000 per week in wages, with Garnacho’s transfer fee going down as pure profit as a product of the academy.

Not only would the £100 million in transfer fees for the pair create funds to sign new players, but it would also significantly reduce the staring on the club’s wage bill.

  • Trump takes action to Lower prescription drug prices

Trump takes action to Lower prescription drug prices

The order expands on the president’s efforts during his first term to lower prescription drug prices, including reauthorizing his order that drastically reduced out-of-pocket prices for insulin and EpiPens for low-income Americans.

    By Misty Severi

President Donald Trump on Tuesday signed an executive order that seeks to lower prescription drug prices for Americans on Medicare, and low-income patients.

The order expands on the president’s efforts during his first term to lower prescription drug prices, including reauthorizing his order that drastically reduced out-of-pocket prices for insulin and EpiPens for low-income Americans.

This time, insulin prices will be lowered to as low as $0.03, plus a small administrative fee for low-income and uninsured Americans, and injectable epinephrine prices will be as low as $15, plus a small administrative fee.

The new directive instructs the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to improve the Medicare Drug Pricing Negotiation Program, align prescription drug prices for Medicare patients with the costs hospitals pay for the medication, and standardize Medicare payments for prescription drugs regardless of where the patient was treated.

    Getty Images

“President Trump is delivering on his promise to once again put American patients first by building off of the historic efforts of his first term to lower prescription drug prices,” the White House said in a fact sheet on the order. “President Trump will not stand for inaction, and his Administration is working rapidly to lower the cost of prescription drugs for Americans.”

The White House also accused the Biden administration of allowing Trump’s first-term efforts to reduce drug prices to expire.

The Biden administration did reach an agreement with drugmakers last year to reduce prices on 10 of the most expensive prescription drugs available under Medicare.
