One of the recent updates that Apple shipped with its AI-suite was Notification Summary. When it’s turned on, Apple Intelligence can summarize the information in messages or notifications, giving you only the key points so you can ignore the rest of the chatter. However, Notification Summary in its current state doesn’t work as intended and could often leave you confused. Fortunately, you can easily turn off the Notification summary on an iPhone, and the following post will help you do just that.
How to Turn Off Notification Summary on iPhone
It’s very easy to turn off Notification summary on an iPhone entirely. You can also turn it off for individual apps, as you might find that while you don’t prefer them for certain apps, they are actually useful for some others. No matter which direction you’re leaning toward, follow the steps below.
Open the Settings app on an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence.
Inside Settings, scroll down and tap on Notifications.
Select Summarize Notifications under “Apple Intelligence”.
To completely disable Notification summaries, turn off the Summarize Notifications toggle at the top.
Alternatively, you can turn off notification summaries on a per-app basis. For that, leave the Summarize Notifications toggle enabled and then turn off the toggle for apps where you want to disable notification summaries for. In this instance, we disabled the Messages and Mail toggles.
Note:
Apple has temporarily disabled AI notification summaries for all News and Entertainment apps after facing backlash over incorrect summaries. So, it won’t make a difference whether you turn off Notification Summary for these apps until Apple re-enables it. These apps will be marked as “Temporarily Unavailable” on the list.
Why Do I Still See Notification Summary after Turning It Off?
If you’re still getting notification summaries even after completely turning off the feature, you aren’t alone. For certain apps like Mail or Messages, users have been facing this issue. It’s likely a bug or an oversight that Apple could soon address. In the meantime, you can disable the Summarize Message Previews feature inside Settings > Apps > [App Name] to fix it.
Notification summaries aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. If you know to take them with a grain of salt and expect things to go wrong occasionally (generally good advice for all things AI), there might not be any harm in keeping them enabled. However, if you’re not getting any value out of them, simply turn off the notification summary feature on your iPhone.

Something that can upset you while trying to access your smartphone is forgetting the password. Regardless of the experience some users have with technology nowadays, this can happen! I agree that this happens often with users who are not familiar with passwords. In this world where security is more than a need, we often see people setting passwords that they won’t remember after a certain time. It can be frustrating and even problematic when you lose access to your Android smartphone due to password loss. Well, fortunately, we can still recover access to the device! There are some valid ways to unlock an Android phone without a password. This guide will provide multiple ideas that may help you recover access to your smartphone.
Getting Ready to Recover Your Password
Before proceeding with the recovery process, it’s important to follow some tips to be ready for this. First of all, you need to ensure your device is signed into your Google account and that some of the critical features, like Find My Device, are activated. Some unlocking options require prior setup, and you’re in the best scenario if you have these options set up. These pre-requisites can save you from some hassle if you get locked out with a forgotten password.
It is also worth noting that manufacturers have been making steps to increase the security of smartphones. Therefore, you might face some protection systems if you simply try to factory reset the smartphone. It makes sense, after all, without protection tools, it would be easy for someone to steal a locked smartphone and simply reset it to factory settings. The security protection steps may vary depending on devices and manufacturers. So you can do some research about your smartphone before proceeding.
How to Unlock an Android Phone Without a Password
1. Use Google Find My Device
Google’s Find My Device is one of the best features Google has ever implemented in its smartphones. To make use of this feature, the smartphone needs to be signed into the Google account. It also needs to have services enabled and have the Find My Device feature turned on. Here are some steps on how to activate and use it:
How to Activate Find My Device:
Open the Settings app on your Android phone.
Head to Google settings.
Select All Services and tap on Find My Device.
Toggle on the option to enable Use Find My Device.
Now, you’re good to go to perform a factory reset via the Find My Device feature. See the steps below:
How to Factory Reset Using Find My Device:
Visit Find My Device from any browser.
Log in to your Google account.
Select your phone from the list of registered devices.
Click Erase Device to initiate a factory reset.
Confirm by tapping Reset and entering your Google account password if prompted.
This method resets your phone. You will restart from scratch and will need to reinstall apps and set up accounts. However, you can try to sync it with your Google Account to quickly restore apps and some of the settings.
2. Android Extend Unlock
Another feature is Android Extend unlock. For those unaware, the feature replaces the old Smart Unlock feature and simplifies the unlocking process under some conditions. For example, the device will check if the smartphone is in your pocket, at a trusted place, or connected to a trusted Bluetooth device like a smartwatch.
Once again, this feature needs to be set up and enabled beforehand. If you forget your password but have it enabled for home unlocking, for example, you just need to return to the safe place to access your device. After that, you can change the password or restore the smartphone.
How to Enable Extend Unlock:
Open the Settings app.
Go to Security & Privacy.
Head to More Security & Privacy.
Select Extend Unlock and enter your PIN if required.
Choose from the following options and follow the on-screen instructions:
On-body detection (keeps your phone unlocked while it’s on you).
Trusted places (unlock your phone in specific locations, such as home).
Trusted devices (unlock your phone when connected to a specified device).
Once set up, Extend Unlock can bypass the lock screen in predefined circumstances. It’s a really useful and practical setting, but if you haven’t enabled it beforehand, it won’t help you in a password loss.
3. Using Third-Party Software: DroidKit
If the above methods fail, a third-party software like DroidKit can help you to easily restore your smartphone. This software has a complete set of tools to help you, and one of its most interesting features is the device’s recovery. It can handle data recovery, system cleaning, and bypass lock screens. Whether your phone uses a PIN, password, pattern, fingerprint, or facial recognition, DroidKit can override it. The software provides a step-by-step process, making it accessible even for non-tech users.
Steps to Use DroidKit:
Download and install DroidKit on your computer.
Launch the app and connect your phone to the computer using a USB cable.
Follow the on-screen instructions to bypass your phone’s lock screen.
DroidKit isn’t free; plans start at $60 for three months, but discounts are often available. It’s an excellent investment if you frequently deal with locked devices.
4. Performing a Factory Reset
When all the methods above fail, the last and most obvious resort is to factory reset your smartphone directly. It will erase your data, exclude all apps, contacts, and media. It’s important to keep a backup of your data, so when these things happen, you’ll be safe. Unfortunately, when you have your device locked and haven’t set any of the quality-of-life features that can help in the process of unlocking your smartphone, the last option is to factory reset. In some smartphones, you will need to put the original Google Account you used to set up your smartphone on the first boot.
Unlocking A Samsung Phone Without a Password
Samsung currently stands as one of the most popular smartphone brands in the world. Naturally, it’s important to list some of the brand-specific settings for recovery access to a Samsung phone with lost password. Specifically, Samsung has a service dubbed SmartThings Find. In a certain way, it works similarly to Google’s Find My Device.
However, it has additional features, such as the ability to unlock your phone remotely.
How to Enable Samsung’s Remote Unlock:
Open the Settings app on your Samsung phone.
Navigate to Biometrics & Security.
Tap on Find My Mobile and enable Remote Unlock.
How to Unlock Your Samsung Phone Using SmartThings Find:
Visit SmartThings Find from any browser.
Log in to your Samsung account.
Select your device from the left panel.
Click Unlock to regain access.
Conclusion
Getting locked out of your Android phone certainly is one of the worst scenarios for a user who needs it daily. For that reason, it’s important to be proactive in this regard by enabling some of the Google Find Security options. After all, they can help you in these scenarios. Fortunately, some third-party app solutions like DroidKit can help you in this regard when other built-in solutions fail.
You can keep a record of the passwords you set up to save from some hassle and unlock your Android phone. Also, make sure to back up your data, so you’ll be safe in case you need to perform a factory reset. We hope these ways help you to sort out this issue and recover access to your smartphone in no time.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, on Thursday, intensified his plea for international intervention, urging “pressure” on Russia to end the nearly three-year-long war, as his top aides traveled to Paris for critical discussions with US and EU officials.
This appeal coincides with a day of intense Russian attacks, which reportedly resulted in at least 10 deaths and numerous injuries across Ukraine.
“Russia uses every day and every night to kill. We must put pressure on the killers… to end this war and guarantee a lasting peace,” Zelensky stated in a Telegram post, highlighting the daily violence faced by his nation.
Zelensky’s chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, announced his arrival in Paris, accompanied by Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, to engage in talks with US, British, German, and French officials. However, the exact participants remained undisclosed.
Notably, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Keith Kellogg, US President Donald Trump’s special envoy to Ukraine, are scheduled to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss potential ceasefire strategies. This meeting follows a series of devastating Russian air strikes on Ukrainian cities, sparking widespread condemnation from Kyiv and European nations.
Zelensky’s office revealed that the delegation in Paris will focus on “bringing peace to Ukraine,” adding, “Among other things, the parties will discuss ways to implement a full and unconditional ceasefire, the deployment of a multinational military contingent to ensure security, and the further development of Ukraine’s security architecture,” according to a presidential statement.
The Kremlin, however, dismissed the significance of these talks, accusing Ukraine’s allies of prolonging the conflict. “Unfortunately we see from Europeans a focus on continuing the war,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists, when questioned about the anticipated outcomes of the meetings.
On the ground, Russia launched a “massive” drone attack on the city of Dnipro overnight, resulting in three deaths and more than 30 injuries, as reported by local governor Sergiy Lysak. The attacks also caused fires in residential apartment buildings.
“Two more were killed in artillery strikes in Nikopol, down south from Dnipro,” Lysak added, while local officials reported additional fatalities in the frontline areas of the Donetsk and Kherson regions.
Furthermore, Russia’s military claimed to have captured a small village in the eastern Donetsk region, where their forces have been steadily advancing for several months.
(Trice Edney Wire) – My childhood growing up in Pacific Grove, California was blessed with the kind of exposure to and immersion in nature that all kids deserve. We played among towering redwood trees that seemed to reach all the way to heaven. We surfed at Asilomar Beach, and marveled at both how small we are in our place in nature yet how connected we all are. And, a privilege of living in Pacific Grove specifically, we got to witness the migration of western monarch butterflies.
Those monarch butterflies are just a fraction of the weight of a feather. Yet, they were so numerous when I was growing up that they would bend and bounce the tree branches as they landed on them by the tens of thousands.
According to Natalie Johnston of the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History, “Accounts in Pacific Grove as late as the 1990s showed 45,000 monarchs, which we do not see today.”
To say those numbers have shrunk significantly since then would be an understatement. At the same we used to see tens of thousands of monarchs, this past season, Pacific Grove saw just 228. A site in Santa Barbara that saw more than 33,000 monarchs as recently as last winter this year saw just 198.
The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation says, along the California coast, 4.5 million monarchs overwintered in the 1980’s. That number was down to 1.2 million by the late 90s, 293,000 by 2015, 30,000 by 2019, and in 2020, it was less than 2,000.
And while factors including climate change-fueled droughts have likely led to the decline in migrating monarchs in coastal California, other human activity has led to similar declines in other parts of the country. For example, in the upper midwest, use of herbicides has led to the loss of milkweed, an essential host plant for monarch larvae. In Iowa, milkweed shrank in abundance by 58% between 1999 and 2010. As a result, monarch reproduction declined by 81% in the Midwest over that time period.
The numbers are startling. And that is the kind of math – basic subtraction – everyone can understand.
In December, the US Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) proposed protecting monarch butterflies under the Endangered Species Act. FWS estimated that the eastern migratory population of monarchs declined by around 80% over the past four decades. As for the western population I grew up with, that has declined by more than 95% since the 80s. According to FWS, that means the western monarchs stand more than a 99% chance of extinction by 2080.
The nosedive in the populations of this iconic species and vital pollinator should be setting off alarm bells for all of us. This is the extinction crisis in action.
Because species typically go extinct over many years, and because many of the species going extinct are not the ones we see everyday, most people do not realize we are in an extinction crisis arguably worse than the one that killed the dinosaurs. A catastrophic meteor impact and other natural events caused that mass extinction. The mass extinction we are now in – the Earth’s sixth mass extinction event – is being caused by us.
Under natural circumstances, species go extinct at a rate of about one to five species per year. Right now, we are at 1,000 to 10,000 times that rate. It is a wide range, to be sure. But even the low end of that range is terrifying.
The human-caused changes to our planet that are driving the crisis include pollution, habitat destruction like deforestation, industrial-scale agriculture land use, and, of course, wrapped up in all of it, climate change.
The two existential crises facing our planet and the human race – the extinction crisis and the climate crisis – are closely intertwined. Global warming caused by the burning of fossil fuels worsens all the threats contributing to our modern mass extinction event. High temperatures themselves can play a role in whether or not a species declines. And experts say falling short of reducing our greenhouse gas emissions by enough could result in the extinction of between a third and half of all animal and plant species.
It is time to act. The solution to this crisis begins simply with us moving to embrace a more sustainable future. That means leaving the fuels that powered us last century in the past and completing our transition to the one that is already fueling much of America: clean energy. In doing so, we will reduce pollution and can conserve and restore as much land and as many ecosystems – both land and marine – as we can. Our kids and our grandkids deserve the clean water in which to swim and surf as we have enjoyed, and the pristine forests that touch our souls and awaken our splendor in our natural world. They deserve a world full of critters of all kinds; to witness an abundance of species, each playing their vital role in the ecosystems on which we all depend.

Manchester United and Premier League rivals Chelsea are set to go head to head for several of their summer targets as both clubs look to rebuild ahead of next season.
Earlier it was revealed that Chelsea appear to have the edge on United in their pursuit of young striker Liam Delap.
The Ipswich Town striker is looking for a new club this summer to remain in the Premier League as The Tractor Boys are set for relegation to the Championship.
The 20-year-old is prioritising teams like Chelsea and Arsenal who can offer him European football next season.
Should United win the Europa League, securing a slot in the Champions League, the clubs would once more be on a level playing field for the £30 million striker.
However, it’s now reported that Chelsea could beat United to another mutual target, this time from the Bundesliga.

Chelsea lead the race for Jamie Gittens

Christian Falk has reported that Chelsea also have the edge in the race for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jamie Gittens.
Gittens has been a key member of the Dortmund side, grabbing 12 goals and five assists in 44 games.
Showing off his versatility, the 20-year-old has been used on both wings as well as making the odd appearance as a striker and in attacking midfield.
United have been linked with the attacker since January when looking for a replacement for Alejandro Garnacho amid interest from Chelsea and Napoli.
However The Red Devils have continued to monitor the star, despite moves for Garnacho falling through.
Unfortunately for United, as with many deals this summer, Gittens’ price tag may be too much for Ruben Amorim’s side.
Dortmund are wanting £83 million for their talented youngster which is above and beyond what United can afford with limited funds in the budget.
With financial barriers and uncertainty around European football next season, United are unfortunately falling down the pecking order for several of their key targets.

In a rare sign of public dissent, three pro-democracy banners hung on an overpass in China’s southwestern city of Chengdu early Tuesday morning, according to a prominent citizen journalist on X.
The display appeared to be inspired by ‘Bridge Man’ Peng Lifa, who hung similar banners on the busy Sitong Bridge in Beijing, sparking the White Paper protests of November 2022.
During those protests, which took place in several cities in China, people showed blank sheets of paper to symbolize that authorities gave them no voice amid anger over the loss of freedom and pandemic lockdowns.
Tuesday’s display in Chengdu did not appear to set off any street protests, but the pictures of the banners caused a stir online and were reportedly soon blocked and removed when shared on WeChat.
Pictures of the banners were originally sent to X account @whyyoutouzhele, also known as “Mr. Li is not your teacher,” by a contributor who claimed he had been preparing these slogans for over a year and hoped the popular X account, which has over 1.9 million followers, would help him spread his message.
The banners read: “Without political system reform, there will be no national rejuvenation,” “The people do not need a political party with unrestrained power,” and “China does not need anyone to point out the direction, democracy is the direction,” according to the X account, which is maintained by artist-turned-citizen journalist Li Ying and shot to prominence during the “White Paper” protests.
Shortly after the original post, which went up at 06:20 am Beijing time on Tuesday, a followup post confirmed that the banners were hung from a bridge outside Chengdu’s Chadianzi Bus Station. Local residents confirmed the location of the banners – hung from a bridge near the Chadianzi Third Ring Road Interchange in Jinniu District, Chengdu.
Subsequently, a second followup post on the same X account on Tuesday evening, confirmed that the man who had shared the information with Mr. Li had been out of contact for more than 13 hours.
“The last thing he wanted to convey to the public through us was that he hoped democracy could be realized as soon as possible,” according to the final post at 07:58 pm Beijing time on Tuesday.
RFA called the Jinniu District Public Security Bureau and Chengdu’s Chadianzi Police Station to seek confirmation about the banners. A police officer at the station said incidents at the Third Ring Road were outside its jurisdiction.
Rights activists opined that the display of banners reflected latent political dissatisfaction and desire for change that is prevalent in Chinese society.
“In the past few decades of the CCP’s rule, there have been many people who demand democracy. Although the voices from the people are very weak, there are always calls to break through the darkness and yearn for light,” said Guo Min, a former police officer turned political activist who relocated to the United States two years ago.
An activist in Chengdu, who only gave his name as Zhao for safety reasons, said the banner incident “is a direct expression of dissatisfaction with the system and despair with reality.”
The President of the African Development Bank, Dr Akinwumi Adesina, has called on African nations to put an end to the export of raw materials if the continent is to overcome poverty and underdevelopment.
Africa currently accounts for less than two per cent of global manufacturing.
In a post shared on Thursday via his official X handle, Adesina stressed the need for Africa to shift from being a supplier of unprocessed commodities to a producer of value-added goods.
He explained that the export of value-added products is the highway to wealth, adding that Africa is tired of being poor
“Africa must end the exports of its raw materials. The export of raw materials is the door to poverty. The export of value-added products is the highway to wealth. And Africa is tired of being poor,” he wrote.
Despite Africa being home to the world’s most sought-after raw materials, its share of global trade remains under three per cent. Efforts to change this narrative have gained momentum in recent years. Initiatives such as the African Continental Free Trade Area are designed to enhance intra-African trade, boost manufacturing, and encourage value addition across sectors.
Adesina has consistently advocated for policies that promote agro-industrialisation, energy expansion, and improved infrastructure as a foundation for transforming Africa’s economies.
Last week, Adesina criticised the disproportionate allocation of the International Monetary Fund’s Special Drawing Rights, revealing that Africa received just $33bn, only 4.5 per cent of the $650bn issued globally.
The AfDB president stressed that the distribution model of the SDRs failed to reflect the urgent financial needs of Africa, which bore some of the deepest economic scars from the pandemic, with limited fiscal capacity to implement a robust recovery plan.
To address this imbalance, Adesina disclosed that the AfDB, in partnership with the African Union, spearheaded efforts to rechannel unused SDRs from wealthier nations to African economies.
Leveraging the AfDB’s AAA credit rating, a new framework co-developed with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has now been approved by the IMF Board.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — A 30-year-old community service program that sends young adults to work on projects across the U.S. was the latest target of the Trump administration ‘s campaign to slash government spending.
AmeriCorps’ National Civilian Community Corps informed volunteers Tuesday that they would exit the program early “due to programmatic circumstances beyond your control,” according to an email obtained by The Associated Press.
The unsigned memo to corps members said NCCC’s “ability to sustain program operations” was impacted by the Trump administration’s priorities and President Donald Trump’s executive order creating the Department of Government Efficiency. Members would be officially dismissed April 30.
AmeriCorps did not respond Wednesday to an AP email seeking comment.
What program was affected and why?
AmeriCorps NCCC, which completed its 30th year last year, employs more than 2,000 people ages 18 to 26 participating for a roughly 10-month service term, according to the program’s website. The teams of corps members are tasked with working on several projects related to education, housing, urban and rural development, land conservation, and disaster relief, driving from one assignment to another across the country.
The agency pays for volunteers’ basic expenses, including housing, meals and a “limited health benefit,” as well as a “modest” living allowance, according to the program. The program also provided members who complete their 1,700-hour service term with funding for future education expenses or to apply to certain student loans. That benefit was worth about $7,300 this service year.
Funding for AmeriCorps and NCCC has long been scrutinized when Congress talks of budget trims. The federal agency’s budget showed NCCC funding amounted to nearly $38 million last fiscal year.
A White House official said the Trump administration questioned using taxpayer money for the program. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to comment publicly.
What work were they doing?
The traditional NCCC volunteers worked with sponsors including community and faith-based based organizations, nonprofits, schools, cities and tribes. Some of the recent service projects included working at a food bank in Washington state, building homes with Habitat for Humanity in North Carolina, and facilitating after school programs in Arizona.
AmeriCorps NCCC also has a partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and, more recently, the U.S. Forest Service. Those volunteers over the last year responded to tornadoes and flooding in Iowa, hurricane damage in North Carolina and wildfires in California, among other natural disasters, when volunteers are especially visible.
What happens next for corps members?
Young corps members were told Tuesday night to pack up. Many started long road trips from their latest assignment to campuses in Vicksburg, Mississippi; Vinton, Iowa; Sacramento, California; and Aurora, Colorado. Members would receive their allowance and health coverage through the end of April, according to the memo.
Members were told in the memo that those who have completed 15% or more of their term would be eligible for a prorated amount of their education award.
But Kate Raftery, who was NCCC director from 2011 to 2014, said she’s worried about the corps members, many of whom were the “unusual suspects” who “saw this as a really impactful education or career launching pad.”
“They were not young people who had been striving to be service members somewhere,” Raftery said. “They were looking for an opportunity to improve their life. They were looking for an opportunity to build some skills, and to be part of a community.”
With Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves’ official release just around the corner, we were today treated to a video from the Japanese esports team CAG Osaka’s YouTube channel.
In the broadcast which was just short of two hours long, you’ll see some of CAG’s most notable members, namely CAG|Go1, CAG|Fenrich and CAG|Dogura battling it out against each other in the full build of SNK’s new fighting game.
The players use a variety of characters in their matches with each of them having selected five characters to have in their roster.
CAG|Go1 chose to play Cristiano Ronaldo, Kim Dong Hwan, Mai Shiranui, Marco Rodrigues and Hotaru Futaba. CAG|Fenrich showcases gameplay of Salvatore Ganacci, Hokutomaru, Tizoc, Kevin Rian and Billy Kane. Finally, CAG|Dogura decided to use Gato, Vox Reaper, Rock Howard, Terry Bogard and Kain R. Heinlein.
For the unfortunate fans of B. Jenet (like myself) and Preecha, neither of them were part of this high level gameplay showcase.
The full video clocks in at around one hour and 50 minutes and has a lot of discussion between the players and the MC present, but there’s also a lot of gameplay between the competitors so if you want to see what Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves looks like in the hands of pro players, this is your chance.
You can check out the full video below.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves releases for PC, Sony PlayStation 4, Sony PlayStation 5 and Microsoft Xbox Series X and S on April 24th.
