  • TECHNOLOGY: Apple Watch; To Start Selling in April

    By Eyizle Ene-Okon

Apple’s first wearable gadget, the Apple Watch, will begin shipping in

April, the company’s CEO revealed on Tuesday the 27th of January 2015.

The Apple Watch, having debuted alongside the wildly successful iPhone

6, is the first new category for Apple since the introduction of the

    iPad in 2010.

The device will start at $349 for the most basic version and go up from there.

The question now will be; will it be a muti-purposed gadget? or just

an ordinary watch like the swiss watch and other of its kind

    performing the nornal watchy fucntion.

But when it comes to one of the world leading Electronic ICT company,

I think Apple will showcase what ‘Apple’ knows how to do best.

  • MEMORIAL SERVICE OF OKE AFA BOMB BLAST OF JANUARY 27TH 2002 :A RETROSPECT

Is it  possible for me to forget the events that took place in lagos nigeria at okeafa isolo in which many sons and daughters with a supposed bright future lost their lives as they were trapped and drawned in the okeafa canal in an attempt to excape from the bomblast that took place in ikeja military cantonment which was just a stone throw from okeafa where this sad incidence took place ? I had just concluded my post primary education (secondary school) from ire-akari grammar school, okota and was residing somewhere in surulere then, memories of that events seems like yesterday as the pain, terror lingers, it was as though the world had come to an end!. Eyewitnesses reported that early that morning people had woken up and had prepared to go about their normal business.. Husling and bustling which is the case with settlers in lagos. Unknown to many that what seems like another blessed day would turn out as a day of mourning in oshodi isolo local government area of lagos state.  Reporters had it that some dynamites and other suffisticated weapons of mass destruction supposedly left over and recovered from the biafran war which was buried in what looks like a careless manner underneath the ground by war escapist and prisoners exploded in turns due to subjection to intense temperature and pressure Whether this is true or no remains a mystery as there were different accounts to the story. it happened that those residing within this catchment in order to excape death,  however did run into their death traps enmass like an unguarded herd of cattle. Since it was actually dark as the sun had prior to this time gone to its resting place. Many people especially children supposing that the canal which was covered with leaves and grasses was a dry land, rushed into it like the biblical Egyptians ran into the red sea in the pursuit of the israelites. The consequence was that they all met their end. parents were robbed of their children, people were displaced from their homes, new accommodations and rents skyrocketed and became difficult to afford as land owners, landlords and landladies saw this as an opportunity to enrich themselves.  Today marks the 13th year memorial service for that sad unforgettable event. May the souls of all these faithful departed continue to rest in peace as we all will live to remember them.. Amen.

    FAQs

    ====

    1. Do I need data to use this?

    Yes, you do.

Subscribe to a Data plan that can be checked

    with *123*10# or *141*712*10#.

Blackberry plans are experimental, and might or

    might not work.

    The optimal daily plan is 50 naira/ 4mb / 1

    day.

    Subscription code is *141*11*9#.

The optimal monthly plan is 800 naira/

    125mb/ 30 days.

    Subscription code is *141*11*786#.

    2. Will my data balance be deducted?

    Yes, it will.

But at a very slow rate. If you follow all steps

correctly, the deduction might not even be

    noticeable.

    3. How to Use?

There are a lot of methods in which this could be

    used.

    Here’s what worked for me:

*.Set your android proxy settings to use proxy –

    127.0.0.1:8080.

To do this, navigate to Settings – Mobile

Networks – Access Point Names. Open

the active connection profile, and set

Proxy to 127.0.0.1, and Port to 8080.

    Then save your settings.

    *.This step needs root access.

If you already have an active firewall, please

    disable it.

If your device is not rooted, skip this step, but

note that the rate at which your mb will be

    deducted will increase significantly.

Open DProxy, touch the Options button, usually

the left touch-button on most Android phones.

    Select Firewall.

When the list loads up, confirm that DProxy,

    only is selected.

If it’s not, select it. Then touch options, and

Select Enable. Might take ~4 seconds. Once

applied, press back to go back to the Proxy

    scene.

*.Turn on your Mobile Data, if it’s been turned

    off initially.

*.Touch the Options button, and Select Settings,

fill in the details appropriately. After filling, go

back to the Proxy Scene, and touch the Start

Proxy button. If all goes well, you should get a

notification of a successful start. Your apps

    should start connecting through DProxy.

*.Not all apps will work with this, especially

    chat/social-networking apps. Here’s where

ProxyDroid comes in. Download from HERE

*.Start ProxyDroid, and fill in these details,

    only:

    *.Host: 127.0.0.1

    *.Port: 8080

    *.Proxy Type: HTTP

*.Click the Individual Proxy selection, under

Feature Settings, and select apps that aren’t

connecting, normally, through the steps listed

    above.

*.After selection, toggle the Proxy Switch button

    at the top to ON

*.Switch back to DProxy, open the Firewall, and

then select the Apps you ticked on ProxyDroid.

After selecting, touch the Options button, and

    select Apply rules.

*.Once the rules are successfully applied. You

should be able to browse with those apps.

    *.IMPORTANT: Once you’re done with

browsing, or want to switch to a different sim,

open DProxy, open the Firewall, and then

Disable the firewall, thru the options menu

*.Then Exit DProxy, from the Options menu

  • POLITICS: Umar Abubakar 6 Points Critique Of Buhari's Certificate Scandal

CERTIFICATE SCANDAL: WE, MUSLIMS MUST SPEAK UP NOW

    -By Umar Abubakar, PhD
Kaduna (NDR) – This certificate scandal of Maj-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari has really opened the eyes of many. Initially, some of us in the north thought that Goodluck Jonathan in his desperate move to remain in power beyond 2015 wants to use this certificate issue to shut out our champion, Buhari.

But from every indication, the opposite is the case. It’s an understatement to say that I’m ashamed of being a Muslim and be supporting Buhari. Islam is not about lies and evil. Islam is a true religion based on peace and unity.
For over a month, Buhari is yet to provide his certificate and remove the shame he has painted on us, his diehard supporters. I mean, how difficult is it for Buhari to instruct WAEC to send a copy of his certificate to INEC, not to Premium Times? Is this so difficult? He doesn’t need to travel to do this. The time he used in Press Conference is the same opportunity he would tell WAEC to kindly send his certificate to INEC. By so doing, the whole world would know that he is truly a man of integrity and incorruptible.
Organizing a Press Conference with the aim to release a shabbily prepared Statement of Result is not ideal, especially when the CERTIFICATE is there with WAEC. Or is the Statement of Result more valuable than the CERTIFICATE?
For 2 days now, I have thought about everything I held Buhari at high esteemed thinking that he was being victimized by the lucifers in PDP, but I was wrong. I have come to a solid conclusion that he has been lying to us, his ardent supporters. I am ashamed to say this, but I must say it. I must describe Buhari in 6 words:
    1. FRAUD – he entered the army without any certificate but rose to the rank of Maj-General taking salaries and pensions which he didn’t merit.
    2. COUPIST – he was the arrowhead in ousting Gowon in 1976 as well as Shagari in 1983.
    3. LOOTER – I now believe the $2 billion in midland bank Fela sang about.
    4. BIGOT – He jailed politicians that are not from his ethnic group or how could one explain why Shagari wasn’t jailed but Ekwueme was. He feels so proud that he executed 76% of PTF projects in the north, neglecting even our Muslim brothers and sisters in the Southwest.
    5. LIAR – He maintains that Abacha didn’t steal just because he followed Abacha and looted Nigeria dry. He claims to have N1m in his bank account, yet his children are in the UK schooling where millions of naira are paid as Tuition fees.
    6. FORGER – this one is causing me depression. I can’t believe that Buhari has no single certificate, instead of him to open up, he went and forged one.
We have no option than to stick with Jonathan till 2019. Buhari has messed us up walahi!

  • NEWS: Teenage Gay Lovers Arrested In Kano

    By Dickson Blessing
The agency responsible for enforcing Islamic law in Kano State reported that twelve young men were arrested on the charges of preparing a gay marriage.
The men, most of them who are teenagers were arrested on Monday 26th of January in a hotel in the suburbs of the city said Aminu Daurawa, the head of the Hisbah, the agency charged with enforcing sharia.
“We have 12 men in detention, including ‘the bride’. We stopped them in the room where was to be held a gay marriage,” said Mr. Daurawa. “Our men stormed the room while the wedding was about to begin.”
Faruk 18, one of the arrested participant from Maiduguri denied the charge and told pressmen that he was just having a birthday party with his friends. “It was my birthday party, not a gay marriage,” he bursted out in tears.
The suspects had come not just from Kano but from other northern states, Maiduguri, Kaduna, Bauchi and South west- Ibadan and Osogbo. Mr. Daurawa said the suspects from these areas had a feminine appearance and behaviour. He did not specify if the suspects would be prosecuted but the families have been convened.
These young ones have been arrested based on the fact that Homosexuality is banned by federal law in Nigeria, which was passed last year a new law prohibiting marriage between persons of the same sex.
In the northern states, where sharia (Islamic law) is applied parallel to the state and federal judicial systems, homosexuality is punishable by death, though this sentence is rarely imposed.
