  • NEWS: FG: Boko Haram Plans New Strategy With Livestock

    The Federal Government have yesterday Thursday 29 January 2015 revealed that Boko Haram plans to use male suicide bombers disguised as cobblers and livestock like cow, goat, donkeys and camels to carry out suicide attacks in the country.
    Mr Mike Omeri the Coordinator of information Centre in Nigeria revealed that “available intelligence reports indicate a plan by Boko Haram to use young male suicide bombers disguised as cobblers to hide explosives in their tool boxes and detonate them on soft target areas such as markets, restaurants, ATM locations, political rallies, worship centres as well as other public places.
    “Also, there is indication of a plan by this group to use livestock such as, goats, cows, donkeys and camels laden with explosives to attack chosen targets.
    “The general public, including all persons operating within and around the aforementioned places, are advised to be vigilant and mindful of suspicious activities in their environment.”
    He also stressed that anyone who takes their livestock for grazing at city centres would be duly arrested as it posses threat to the security of Nigerians.

    For all the single ladies,  men inevitably come to that point in their lives when decision making is paramount.  They carefully plan and strategize their choices because it affect the outcome of their future career, finances and over all directions of their lives. For the most important decision they make, men take very little time to develop any rules before hand. Men were created to love. It is natural, and certainly a beautiful gift they are should enjoy. These steps are not a fool proof plan of life long marital bliss. Marriage is hard work, but without considering these factors , you are preparing your marriage for a failure.
    1.  A Standard of Living: We all have standards,  some of you might need to think about reevaluating yours, but we all have them. The frustration in marriage will only begin to burn if you’re with a girl with a world of standards apart from your own. One of this things will happen – compromise or divorce. Or both.
    2.  Committed: Marriage is for life.  Don’t commit your self to any one you cannot see your self with till death do you part. Divorce rates are only climbing because boys don’t ever grow up into men. Fight for your girl every step of the way. A successful marriage requires falling in love over and over with the same person. A boy makes excuses and quit. A man understands the vows he made and never stop falling in love with his bride.
    3.  Who said faith matters.? Marry a girl who shares your belief of God.  This is the most fundamental step to consider. If you marry a girl who does not believe in the God you worship, you end up being in misery.
    4.  She has to know how to smile : These are the most precious and treasured moments. Life is not easy.  The pressures and anxieties of life only get tougher. Marry a wife who knows how to laugh with you until you’re too old beautiful souls. Always laugh when you can. It is cheap medicine.
    5.  Check her family : If you want a preview of what your family will be like, just take a good look at the relationship between her and her parent.
    6.  If a girl does not have time for you now, she won’t when you married.  The most satisfying aspect in relationship is time spent with a girl who genuinely wants to be by your side.

  • POLITICS: 27th of January 2002: A Memorial Day That Will Linger in Lagos Nigeria as Oshodi-Isolo Settlers Mourn

    Is it  possible for me to forget the events that took place in Lagos Nigeria at Okeafa Isolo in which many sons and daughters with a supposed bright future lost their lives as they were trapped and drawned in the Okeafa canal in an attempt to excape from the bomblast that took place in Ikeja Military cantonment which was just a stone throw from Okeafa where this sad incidence took place? 


    I had just concluded my post primary education(secondary school) in Okota and was residing somewhere in Surulere then, memories of that events seems like yesterday. 


    Eyewitnesses reported that early that morning people had woken up and had prepared to go about their normal business. Hustling and bustling which is the case with settlers in Lagos. Unknown to many that what seems like another blessed day would turn out as a day of mourning in Oshodi Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos state.  


    Reporters had it that some dynamites and other sophisticated weapons of mass destruction supposedly left over and recovered from the Biafran war which was buried in what looks like a careless manner underneath the ground exploded in turns due to subjection to intense temperature and prepared. Whether this is true or no remains a mystery as there were different accounts to the story. 


    It happens that those residing within this catchment in other to excape death ran into this death trap enmass like an unguarded herd of cattle. Since it was actually dark as the sun had prior to this time gone to its resting place. Many people especially children supposing that the canal which was covered with leaves and grasses was a dry land, rushed into it like the biblical Egyptians ran into the red sea in the pursuit of the Israelites. 


    The consequence was that they all met their end. Parents were robbed of their children, people were did place from their homes, new accommodations and rents skyrocketed and became difficult to afford as load other, landlords and landladies saw this as an opportunity to enrich themselves.  


    Today is a 13th year memorial service for that sad unforgettable event. May the souls of all these faithful departed continue to rest in peace as we all will live to remember them.. Amen.

  • NEWS: Cambridge: Buhari WASC Result Is Authentic

    The University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate, UCLES, currently known as Cambridge Assessment recently published more information to prove the authenticity of the academic credentials of presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) Gen. Muhammed Buhari’s WASC result.
    Cambridge confirms through their online website that result grade in 1961 were issued in numbers and not letters as had stated by Gen. Buhari’s critics who had dismissed his results as the real one.
    It was revealed by the online post that “Examination results were classed in grades from 1 to 9,” explained that “1,2,3,4,5 & 6 indicate a Pass with Credit; 7 & 8 indicate a Pass; 9 indicate a Failure.”
    The result presented by Buhari shows that he had credit in English, Health Science, Hausa Language and Geography while he had a fail in Mathematics and Woodwork and a pass in Literature in English.
    Cambridge clarified in its post online that for one to qualify for a certificate as that time does not necessarily need a pass in Mathematics but in English language
    It said “To pass the School Certificate, candidates had to pass examinations in a variety of groups. It was compulsory to pass English Language, but not Maths, in order to gain the Certificate”.
    This post comes up after the controversy over Buhari’s result and whether he completed his secondary school education. Also, to justify the 1999 Constitution As Amended which requires any candidate intending to occupy the office of the President to have at least the Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalence.
