Spanish club CA Osasuna has secured the signing of young Nigerian striker Sixtus Ogbuehi on loan until the end of the season, with an option to make the move permanent.
Ogbuehi, who was called up to Nigeria’s U23 team in 2023, will initially join Osasuna’s reserve team, Osasuna Promesas, which plays in the Primera Federación.
This move provides the 21-year-old with an opportunity to restart his career after a challenging spell at Club Deportivo Eldense in Spain’s La Liga Hypermotion.
The Nigerian forward, who began his career at Campos FC in Owerri, Nigeria, has shown steady progression in his career. After impressing in the Nigerian National League with nine goals in 16 appearances during the 2021/22 season, Ogbuehi moved to Spain.

He had stints at Spanish clubs Moralo and Ceuta B, where he demonstrated his goalscoring abilities, netting 18 goals across both clubs in the Spanish Fifth Division last season.
His strong performances earned him a move to Eldense in the Second Division, a significant leap of three divisions. However, opportunities were scarce at Eldense, with the 192-centimeter striker making just five league appearances and one Copa del Rey outing this season.
Ogbuehi Nzubechi Sixtus has signed a six-month loan deal with Spanish La Liga side Osasuna.
The former Campos FC of Owerri striker will initially join Osasuna Promesas, the club’s second team, for the second half of the season.

Now, Ogbuehi joins Osasuna Promesas, who are currently 11th in the Primera Federación – Group 2, with 25 points. The team is looking to strengthen its attack for the second half of the season.
Ogbuehi is expected to bring his physicality and goal-scoring instinct to help head coach Santi Castillejo’s side climb the standings.
The Pamplona-based club announced the deal on their official website, highlighting the voluntary purchase clause that allows them to make Ogbuehi’s transfer permanent if he impresses during his loan spell.
