The Executive Chairman of Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Capt. Casmir Nwafor (Rtd), has been honoured with an award of excellence for his exemplary leadership and remarkable performance in grassroots development.
The Anambra State Team of Supervisors (ASTOS) presented the award to him during it training workshop, held at Emmaus House Awka on Sunday.
The training workshop with the Theme; “Educating the electorate on electoral system and securing the votes was organised to educate Anambra electorates on the danger of voter apathy ahead of Saturday’s November 8, 2025 gubernatorial election in the state.

Speaking after presenting the award, the ASTOS convener, Hon Kingsley Eche Ngugu, said the award was in honour of the Chairman’s outstanding contributions to infrastructural development in Orumba North Council Area.
According to Ngugu, the prestigious recognition underscores Honourable Casmir’s dedication to transforming Orumba North into a model local government under the visionary leadership of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo.
“Since assuming office, the Chairman has demonstrated uncommon commitment to the Soludo Solution Vision by executing people-oriented projects that touch on rural infrastructure, youth empowerment, security, and social welfare.
“His ‘Orumba North Solution Drive’ initiative has become a rallying point for progress, bridging the gap between government and the grassroots through creative, low-cost, and impactful programs.
Receiving the award, the Executive Chairman, dedicated the honour to governor Soludo, appreciating him for his mentorship, guidance, and the enabling environment provided for local government administrations to thrive in Anambra State.
He reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA-led government and reiterated his resolve to deliver 100% block votes for the governor’s re-election come November 8, 2025.
The Chairman used the event to appeal to the opposition political parties and their syndicates contesting the November 8 gubernatorial election to allow governor Soludo to complete the turned of Anambra South Senatorial District for the sake of equity, equality, fairness and justice.
He also appealed to Anambra electorates to disregard the publication that governor Soludo has promised to pay anyone who will vote for his reelection victory, noting that the promised was just to discouraged voter apathy on the election day.
