The Newly appointed Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources Mr. Oliver Orok has assumed office and called on the Management staff of the Ministry to work with him to ensure that all the activities of Government through the Ministry succeeds to the benefit of citizens of the state.
The Commissioner made the call at an inaugural meeting with Management Staff of the Ministry in his Office in Calabar.
He thanked the Governor, Sen. Ben Ayade for allowing him to serve in the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, promising to work, deliver on the mandates and also leave an lasting footprints during his stay as Commissioner.
Orok said the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources is a Key Ministry in the Present Administration whose policy thrust is hinged on improving the quality of life of the people and growth of the nation through sustainable agricultural programmes.
Orok directed Management staff to write out their Departmental and Units briefs and bring to his office, pointing out that such exercise is aimed at keeping everyone abreast with the operations of the Ministry.
He further sought maximum cooperation and support of the management staff to ensure his stay in the Ministry is worthwhile.
The Permanent Secretary, Mr. Jacob Udida, in an introductory speech intimated the Commissioner about the harmonious working relationship that exists between him and the Management Staff who are professionals in their difference field, informing him that a lot has be achieved as a Ministry.
The Commissioner, thereafter, embarked on a guided tour of the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
