We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Optometrist responsible for examining patients' eyes and providing comprehensive vision care.
The job holder will diagnose eye conditions such as myopia, glaucoma, astigmatism, and other vision impairments.
Additionally, the Optometrist will treat visual problems, prescribe corrective solutions, and provide vision therapy and low-vision rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to diagnose eye diseases and infections.
Perform routine and follow-up eye exams for pediatric and adult patients.
Analyze test results and develop appropriate treatment plans.
Prescribe and dispense contact lenses, eyeglasses, and other visual aids.
Provide preoperative and postoperative care for surgical patients.
Triage and screen acute or unscheduled patients.
Educate and counsel patients on visual hygiene, lens care, and safety.
Refer patients to ophthalmology specialists as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum academic qualification of Doctor of Optometry (OD)
Minimum of 3 to 5 years relevant work experience preferably in the health or
Sector.
Membership of a relevant professional body such as Nigerian Optometric Association
(NOA) or Optometry and Dispensing Optician Board of Nigeria (O.D.O.B.N).
Knowledge of the Microsoft office package.
Outstanding communication (oral and written), interpersonal and people MANAGEMENT
skills.
Possess high degree of accuracy and attention to details.
High level of problem solving and critical thinking skills.
