    Ondo: Amotekun arrests, parades abductor of 4-year-old, 17 suspected criminals

    A suspected kidnapper, Samuel Lucky Akpan, has been arrested by the operatives of the Ondo State Security Network, known as Amotekun Corps over the kidnap of a four-year-old boy.

    Akpan, who was alleged to be planning to sell the boy for N200,000, was said to have abducted the toddler at Alagbaka area of Ondo State.

    This was just as the corps also paraded no fewer than 17 suspected criminals who were arrested for various offences .

    The 23-year-old suspected kidnapper who confessed to the crime while being paraded at the headquarters of Amotekun Corps in Alagbaka, Akure, the state capital disclosed that he was planning to sell the boy for N200, 000 when he was caught.

    Akpan was said to have used his closeness with the family of the boy to perpetrate the heinous act.

    The suspect during interrogation said, “It was when I was on my way to sell the boy for N200,000 that some people suspected me and nabbed me.

    “The man I wanted to sell the child to was already waiting for me when I placed a certain leaf on the boy’s head so he would not be able to say anything again.

    “I haven’t gone far from the shop of the boy’s mother when I was nabbed by men of the Amotekun Corps.”

    The state Commander of Amotekun, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, paraded Akpan who stated that investigation had begun over the incident, disclosed that 17 other suspected criminals who have been terrorizing residents of the state were apprehended following the corps’ Operation Clean-Up across the 18 local government areas of the state.

    The Amotekun boss said the suspects were arrested for various offences which included; kidnapping, internet fraud and cultism.
