Following the news of President Muhammadu Buhari's nomination of former Senate Leader Victor Ndoma-Egba SAN as Chairman of NDDC to the National Assembly, there have been a plethora of reactions, some congratulatory, others advisory, some critical etc.

However, a controversial former student activist, Comr Abang Ogon, has sent in a poem mixed in his usual flare with congratulations and advise openly addressing Sen. Victor Ndoma-Egba SAN. The most interesting feature of the poem is the point blank approach the pen pusher Employs in addressing some basic concerns as it borders on Ndoma-Egba's nomination. He titles his searing poem: Once Beaten, Twice Shy. Excerpt:

“Once Beaten Twice Shy”
Dedicated to Sen Victor Ndoma Egba.

Leader Sir, Let me start by congratulating you on your new position, gold fishes have no hiding place, God has proven himself again he has facilitated another opportunity for you to rewrite your wrongs if any and to render services to humanity;

The worst form of death is not when a
strange thing kills a man, but when he allows what almost killed him last year to kill him this year —once beaten, twice shy.

Sir, your PDP era departed leaving you in
tribulation and your supporters in depression, behold a new era greeted with celebration considered as period of hope and expectation with agitations for achievement of real elevation, the result of this fresh era depends largely in new ideas and direction, only fools do the same thing twice and expect a different result —once beaten, twice shy.

Sir, I remember 25th march 2016, when we celebrated the passion of the lord and Good Friday together at Saint Charles Parish, close range we stood, almighty Victor I pondered, at the height of sycophancy the same people who shouted hosanna in the highest started shouting crucify him! crucify!! Our Victor suddenly became an out cast because Imoke said so —once beaten, twice shy.

At the point of your rejection those who stood my you were excommunicated, victimized and locked out, now new position have come again, new friends will come again —once beaten, twice shy.

At the stadium for the supposed PDP
governorship primaries, Victor the supposed leader of Ikom delegates was humiliated again, he stood to lead the delegates when it was time for Ikom LGA to vote, Chris Agibe told all of them to seat down and only Ebaye followed Victor, —once beaten, twice shy.

Sir your personal aides, they are you biggest problem, you gave scholarship they facilitated it for their family members and sold solts to others, you bought laptops for students they sold it to them, you give them peanuts for people they divide it into two and take a part of it they made you look wicked and crafty, Sack them —once beaten, twice shy.

You want to buy rice and goodies for your people for Christmas, instead of monitoring the process you transfer millions to party faithfuls, they truncate your efforts, —once beaten, twice shy.

You only recommend boot lickers and sycophants for position, when the heat was on they ran away —once beaten, twice shy.

If you aren't shy, you might be beaten again.

Congrats.

*What does the reader think of Ogon's poem? Was it worth the read? Is/will Ndoma-Egba be this time shy or chose to be beaten again and again?
