Manchester United appointed Omar Berrada as their CEO in January 2024, after snatching his talents from Manchester City.
After 13 years in the role, Berrada left to join Sir Jim Ratcliffe and United’s new ownership.
After publicly backing Erik ten Hag last month, Berrada and sporting director Dan Ashworth were influencial in the decision to sack the Dutchman.
Now, the former City man has played another key role in appointing United’s next manager.

The Red Devils have agreed personal terms with Ruben Amorim and are expected to bring him to Old Trafford this week.
Mail Sport report that United moved for the Portuguese manager because of Berrada’s inside knowledge of City’s plans.
There has been much speculation that Pep Guardiola will leave City at the end of this season, with his contract expiring in the summer.
Amorim has been tipped as his replacement over the last few months, which is seemingly why Omar Berrada stepped in to hijack the move.

He is part of United’s cohort in Lisbon right now, negotiating with Sporting CP over the final terms of Amorim’s contract.
Joining the CEO in Portugal are Ashworth and technical director Jason Wilcox.
There are two obstacles in the way of Amorim signing for United right now.
Firstly, the 39-year-old wants to bring his coaching staff with him to Manchester, which is a significant request.
He also has a clause in his contract that states Sporting can retain him for 30 days, even after another club activates his €10m release clause.
Club president Frederico Varandas wants United to pay an extra fee to work around these issues, which the clubs are deliberating over now.
