Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has recently rejected the opportunity to return to one of his former clubs having been club less since leaving Manchester United in 2021.
The United legend returned to Old Trafford in 2018 as caretaker manager, taking over from Jose Mourinho.
Three months later, the Norwegian was hired as United’s permanent manager, lasting for two and a half years before departing the club once more.
As manager, Solskjaer led the club to 78 wins, 33 draws and 38 losses, finishing third in the 2019/20 season, and second a year later.
However, it wasn’t to be for Solskjaer as a run of devastating losses saw the former striker sacked from the role, losing 4-1 to Watford, 5-0 to Liverpool and 4-2 to Leicester.
Rumours began surfacing that Solskjaer could be returning when Erik ten Hag was facing the sack, however, the club opted for Ruben Amorim instead.
Now, it’s been revealed that Solskjaer has been offered to return to one of his former clubs as manager, with Molde FK trying to hire the former striker.

Molde FK approach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
VG.no have reported that the Norwegian side approached Solskjaer this weekend after sacking manager Erling Moe. The Norwegian side have had one of their worst runs of late, finishing 5th for the second season running.
Molde are usually either champions or runners-up of the Eliteserien, so coming fifth is a significant drop.
Last season Molde managed to rescue European football thanks to their NM-Cup win. However, this year they were defeated in the final on penalties by Fredrikstad, meaning there is no European competition for them next year.
Solskjaer has managed the side twice before, also having played with the club for a year before joining Manchester United in 1996.
Whilst managing the Norwegian club across two stints, Solskjaer won the league twice and the domestic cup once, so it’s no surprise he’s been approached for a third time.
However, the United legend has rejected the role, not seeing it as a suitable option at this time.
