NORMAN, Okla. (TCD) — A 30-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death of a woman whose remains were found at a lake earlier this month.
On Monday, Feb. 13, at approximately 6:18 p.m., Oklahoma State Park Rangers requested assistance from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation after discovering the remains of a woman at Lake Thunderbird.
The OSBI used Mobile ID technology to scan the victim’s fingerprints, and the victim was identified as Charissia Dawn Bell of Wellston. Authorities reportedly classified the death as suspicious.
On Tuesday, Feb. 21, shortly before midnight, the OSBI arrested a suspect, Austin Godwin, on charges of first-degree murder and unlawful disposal of a body. He was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center.
The OSBI did not disclose how the victim died nor the suspect’s relationship to her.
