COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio (TCN) — A 35-year-old man will spend the rest of his life behind bars for fatally shooting his wife, dismembering her body, and leaving her remains in garbage bags inside a shed.
The Columbiana County Prosecutor’s Office announced Sept. 17 that Christopher Morrison was sentenced to life in prison for aggravated murder, murder, tampering with evidence, possessing criminal tools, gross abuse of a corpse, and firearm specifications in connection with the death of his wife, 34-year-old Tiffany Morrison. A jury indicted the defendant in January. Christopher Morrison will be eligible for a parole hearing around the year 2050.
According to prosecutors, Morrison fatally shot his wife in the head on Dec. 18, 2023. WKBN-TV reports that Morrison killed the victim while she was in the shower. He reportedly wanted her dead so that she couldn’t divorce him.
Following Tiffany Morrison’s death, the defendant reportedly purchased a saw, blades, rubbing alcohol, and trash bags before using the saw to dismember her. According to WKBN, Morrison placed his wife’s dismembered remains into trash bags and left them in a shed on the property.
Assistant Columbiana County Prosecutor Ryan Weikart reportedly said, “The hole in the shower was hidden and patched up.” He called it “a heinous and unimaginable act that shows his genuine lack of remorse.”
Tiffany Morrison’s mother spoke in court and said, “The anger, hurt, and disbelief were unimaginable. Our lives were shattered,” WKBN reports.
Christopher Morrison reportedly also spoke and said, “Our children now have to go forward without either of us, and there is nothing I regret more. I’ll be sorry for this until my last breath.”
