Ogoja Bans Riding of Okada at Night

The Ogoja Council Chairman, Emmanuel Ishabor has banned commercial and private motorcyclist from operating from 10: 00 PM in Ogoja.

In a press statement made available by Justin Ilefa, media aide to the Chairman, Ishbor said ghe decision was made due to recent insecurities in the LGA.

The statement reads;

Arising from the Ogoja Local Government Council Security Meeting with Critical Stakeholders, Heads of Security Agencies, it was resolved among many other pertinent issues that;

1) In view of the precarious security challenges, increase in crime rate in Ogoja Local Government Area, the closing time for public and private Cyclist (OKADA RIDERS) and Tricycle (KEKE), Operators shall henceforth be limited to 10:00pm.

2) Security Agencies have been adequately empowered and mandated to arrest and prosecute offenders.

3) Enforcement begins on Sunday, 23rd of January, 2022.
