Officials identify homicide victim whose body was found on California road on Christmas Eve

FOWLER, Calif. (TCD) — Officials recently identified a female homicide victim whose body was discovered in a rural area on Christmas Eve.

According to a news release from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, on Sunday, Dec. 24, at approximately 5:30 a.m., deputies responded the area of East Adams and South Highlands Avenues to a report of an injured individual in the road. At the scene, deputies found a deceased woman with “injuries consistent with a homicide.”

On Tuesday, Dec. 26, the sheriff’s office announced that officials identified the victim as 33-year-old Cassandra Munoz of Fresno.

Investigators have not yet identified any suspects, but homicide detectives are working to learn more about the case.
