Hon. (Mrs.) Justina Edem in partnership with Ekemini Inyang Foundation organized a Pre-resumption seminar for school children at the Local Government Headquarters. The event featured lessons on ‘Effective Covid19 protocols” which dealt on teaching the children what to do while in school environment, where to visit, importance of reading and listening while lessons is being delivered. At the end of the seminar, the following children, Grace Emmanuel Idim of Federal Girls College, Dennis Iwara and Joseph Monday Joe of St Theresa’s Primary School, Patrick Orok Bassey of Noble High School, and Victor Offiong Edet of Treasure-Charles School came out as overall best in their different categories after the evaluative examination was administered.
Speaking shortly after the seminar, the Chairman of the Foundation, Dr Ekemini Inyang described the seminar as a success and state that the sincere nature of the chairman of Council and her supportive role in children welfare informed her decision to stage the seminar in Odukpani Local Government Council. She stated that the Foundation since inception has carried out many of such outreaches and promise to reach out to other areas.
The Vice Chairman Honourable Enefiok Inyang who assisted in moderating the process with the members of the Foundation express his happiness towards the Chairman and the Foundation for taking up such a task at this difficult time.
Responding, the Executive Chairman of Council Hon. (Mrs.) Justina Edem thanked the Foundation for choosing her Local Government Council for such events and reiterate her readiness to partner with any NGO whose ideology is tailored towards the children especially the girl child. She thanked the children for honoring the invitation she send to them and announced a scholarship award to the overall best children.
High point of the event was distribution of school sandals, books, mathematical set, pencil, erasers, and refreshment to the children including award to the Chairman on her achievement within 100 days in office.
