Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic (OBCC) is inviting Central District families and community members to a special Community Health & Wellness Fair on Saturday, October 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Washington Hall, located at 153 14th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122. The event, hosted by OBCC and Seattle Children’s, is designed to promote health and well-being by offering a wide range of free health services, educational resources, and fun activities.
During the fair, families will have the opportunity to receive flu and COVID vaccines, while OBCC providers will offer essential training sessions, including CPR and First Aid. Attendees can also participate in substance use disorder and firearm safety education. Additionally, housing resources will be available to support community members, alongside a variety of health and safety information tailored to the needs of the Central District.
In addition to these vital health services, the event promises to be a day filled with family-friendly activities. Kids can engage in arts and crafts, including making DIY slime, while parents and children alike can enjoy free food. A costume contest will offer a fun competitive element, with prizes and exciting giveaways throughout the day.
“We are excited to gather the Central District community for a day dedicated to health and wellness,” said OBCC representatives. “This fair not only provides crucial resources like vaccines and CPR training, but it’s also a chance for families to have fun together while learning more about the services OBCC offers.”
The fair will also serve as an opportunity for attendees to learn more about OBCC’s new clinic, scheduled to open in the summer of 2025. This facility, located at 18th Ave. S. and S. Jackson St., will focus on providing much-needed behavioral health and mental health services to Central District families. This expansion of services has been a priority for OBCC, based on their close work with the community to identify key healthcare needs.
Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic, a cornerstone of the Central District, has long been committed to serving the local population with comprehensive healthcare services. As OBCC prepares for the new clinic’s opening, the Community Health & Wellness Fair is a timely opportunity for families to come together, access essential health resources, and strengthen the bond between OBCC and the community it serves.
The event is free and open to the public. Central District families, OBCC patients, and community members are all encouraged to attend, take advantage of the health services, and join in the day’s festivities as OBCC looks toward the future of healthcare in the neighborhood.
