Bettye Darlene Stubblefield was born on September 2, 1964, in the city of Pasadena, CA, the 7th child out of 8 beautiful children born of Reverend Nathaniel and Earline Wiggins. Bettye’s siblings and (spouses): LaVern Parker (Thomas), Perry Wiggins (Barbara), Chester Wiggins (Polly), Phyllis Henry (Mychal), Michael Wiggins (Michelle), Fred Wiggins (Karen), and Nadyne Osborne (Derrick).
Baptized at the age of seven, Bettye loved the LORD and developed a passion for reading the Bible. Her life of service to others started when she was a teenager working at the Pasadena Youth Christian Center. She graduated from Pasadena High School in 1982 where she was an honor student, and a member of the yearbook staff.
She moved to Seattle to begin her undergraduate studies at the University of Washington and earned a B.A. degree in Psychology from Argosy University. A woman of many talents during her career she contributed greatly as an employee of Boeing and Vigor Industrial.
In 1999 she got married to Devin Stubblefield and they were together for 24 years. In her own words, she often stated that one of her greatest accomplishments was being helped by God to raise God-fearing girls: Kamillia (Wiggins) Smith, Stephanie Wiggins-Harris, Gabrielle (Stubblefield) Reed and being mom to Devin Javarhis Stubblefield.
Bettye was a long-time member of Greater Light Church & Ministries under the leadership of the late Bishop W.W. Hackett and Pastor Joyce Hackett. Bettye was ordained as an Evangelist in 2011. For the next 12 years she ministered at many churches and events between the states of Washington and California. She has often been referred to by many as their favorite Sunday School teacher.
She had a great love for writing and always carried around notebooks so that she could journal her experiences and share her life lessons with others. With her quick wit, and undeniable sense of humor, she made everyone laugh and feel good by just being around her. She became affectionately known to many as “Sister Bettye”.
On January 20, 2024, God called Evangelist Bettye Stubblefield home. She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and loving family of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews all over the country.
