According to him, the Council acted strictly within constitutional bounds to safeguard the integrity and credibility of the organization, especially at a time the NYCN must demonstrate consistency, unity, and transparency in youth leadership. He further noted that the emergence of Comrade Okoye reflects the trust the national body has in his capacity, discipline, and commitment to the ideals of the Council.

Speaking shortly after receiving his appointment letter in Awka on Friday, Comrade Okoye expressed gratitude to the National Executive Council for the confidence reposed in him, noting that the assignment is both a privilege and a call to higher responsibility. He pledged to prioritize unity, reorganization, and credible youth participation across the 21 local government areas of the state.

He also pledged to run an inclusive administration that will strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and restore the vibrancy for which the Anambra NYCN was known.
